"To celebrate the pop icon’s Golden Anniversary, Katie Couric and “20/20” travel to the fictional town of Port Charles to experience first-hand the passion, intrigue and adventure that has made the daytime soap the longest running scripted drama currently on television. The hour-long special will feature interviews with fan favorites including Tony Geary, Genie Francis, Maurice Benard, Jack Wagner, Rick Springfield and numerous other cast members, as well as Executive Producer Frank Valentini. “20/20” goes behind the scenes and to offer a visitor’s guide to Port Charles and its residents, and to show how love in the afternoon has changed dramatically." General Hospital returnee and Dancing With The Stars contestant Ingo Rademacher is opening up about why he kept his return to Port Charles on the QT. Rademacher spoke with Extra while rehearsing for his debut on DWTS and explained,
"I had to keep it a secret for so long… I had to lie. It’s a nice little come back with Vanessa Marcil… the Jax and Brenda characters back together for a little bit. It was a great idea to bring the characters back for the 50th. It's quick but it's exciting."

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a soap featured on the cover of a major publication, but in celebration of General Hospital’s upcoming 50th Anniversary People Magazine has released a Collector’s Issue. The cover features Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis), Maxie (Kirsten Storms), Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Brenda (Vanessa Marcil), Duke (Ian Buchanan) and Anna (Finola Hughes) and Jagger (Antonio Sabato Jr.).
A former and current General Hospital star each helped their respective primetime episodes hit season highs. General Hospital alum Vanessa Marcil's guest stint on the CBS cop drama Hawaii Five-0 earned 10.1 million viewers, up 12 percent in its ratings. Meanwhile, General Hospital favorite Kelly Monaco aided in kicking up 16 million viewers on Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars.
