Empire The Series Holds Season 4 Fundrasier

Boys and girls, the Empire gang needs your help! The indie webisoap is currently holding an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds to produce a fourth season. "We are at a point where it is go hard or go home, and we fully intend to go hard," says Empire co-creator Greg Turner. "Brian Hewson (co-creator of Empire) and I have written a really fun season, we just gave the actors their first peak at the scripts and they have so far been delighted which is encouraging. We have amassed this incredible group of talent and we really have a fantastic time working together. The fourth season will definitely be epic. Now we just need the money!"

Tina Sloan Channels Real Life in Happy New Year Role

When Tina Sloan hasn’t been busy starring in the web soap Empire or performing in her one-woman show Changing Shoes, she’s been acting in the Indie movie Happy New Year. In the film, she portrays the mother of injured Marine, Sgt. Cole Lewis (Michael Cuomo), Grace. According to CBS Soaps in Depth, the role has a personal connection.

"My own son had been in Iraq, so all the fears I'd had for [him] I was able to use in this," Sloan confides. "I'd never done work like this in my life because Cole loses his leg, and he's probably going to lose the other leg..."

Former Guiding Light, As The World Turns Stars Reunite at 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards!


 

There was a mini Guiding Light reunion at the 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards last night. Tina Sloan, Michael O’Leary, Orlagh Cassidy and Jordan Clarke (pictured above with One Life to Live’s Hillary B. Smith) , as well as Kim Zimmer, all turned out for the festivities.
 
Hosted by former As the World Turns star, Gotham The Series creator and Outstanding Lead Actress nominee Martha Byrne, the 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards were held at The Ailey Studios in New York City Sunday night.
