Oprah may be the queen of daytime, but Lady Gaga has dethroned her from atop the Forbes Celebrity 100 list, where The Mighty O has held court for four out of seven years.  So just how did Gaga rise to the top? According to Forbes, it helps to be a master of social media.

Lady Gaga topples Oprah Winfrey from her No.1 spot on our list, which she's given up for only the third time in seven years. Gaga is there not just because of the $90 million she earned with a monster tour, but also because of her 32 million Facebook fans and 9.5 million Twitter followers -- aka Little Monsters -- who helped move 1 million digital downloads of her recent single Born This Way in only five days. They're also happy to buy the MAC makeup, Monster headphones and Virgin Mobile phones she features in her videos.

Monday night was the 2011 Costume Institute Gala in honor of the iconic Alexander McQueen. The infamous red carpet scene was, as expected, glittering with young actresses, super models and the heavyweights of the fashion industry, lead by Anna Wintour in a custom haute couture Chanel gown.

Is Lady Gaga going Lady Antebellum? As if the egg theme, the Madonna-klepting, and the improbable six-week run atop the Billboard charts weren't enough, Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" has now gotten a country makeover! On March 25, the eccentric superstar released a "country version" of her ubiquitous hit via Twitter. The result is about as country as Renee Zellwegger in Cold Mountain. Which means Gaga isn't just stealing from Madonna anymore, she's also stealing from Shania Twain and Taylor Swift who have made careers of turning pop songs into country hits simply by adding a slide guitar solo. How's this for awkward? People reporting celeb exes Jake Gyllenhaal and Taylor Swift ran into each other at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. According to the magazine, the two were involved in a very intense conversation. Could a make-up be in the works? Or were they just airing out dirty laundry? From People:

It looks as if Taylor Swift may have another man to sing about on her next album. Perez Hilton published a photo today of Swift and Glee's Chord Overstreet together at a LA Kings hockey game, on February 24. If they are a couple, let’s hope Overstreet has listened to Swift’s CD's and knows what he’s getting into if he breaks her heart.
