No. 5: Hunter Tylo vs. Katherine Kelly Lang, The Bold and the Beautiful
Their characters, Dr. Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), have fought over the affections of fickle fashion designer Ridge Forrester (Ronn Moss) since 1990 on CBS Daytime's international hit serial The Bold and the Beautiful. However, Moss' recent exit from the series—after 25 years—inadvertently led to a real-life Twitter dust up between Tylo and Lang!
When a pot-stirring fan tweeted Lang accusations of Tylo allegedly failing to stop her fans from spreading "vicious rumors/gossip" about Lang, the blonde soap beauty called her brunette co-star out, tweeting: "Hunter, why don't you talk to me?" Ouch!
Tylo responded quickly, denying the messy fan's claims and asked Lang not to get "caught up in the chaos." The fact that Lang was so quick to believe an accusation from a fan makes you wonder, what is really going on up in the House of Forrester? READ MORE
Don't expect to simply see All My Children superstar Susan Lucci introducing clips packages, while hosting Investigation Discovery's Deadly Affairs. The legend, who will always be known as the brazen Erica Kane, revealed at TCA she will be portraying characters during true crime reenactments on the reality series! Said Lucci:
“What I love about Deadly Affairs is the way they are producing the show,” said Deadly Affairs host Susan Lucci. “It has a different look than anything that I have seen. Admittedly, I haven’t seen everything of this genre, but I have watched many shows. While the dramatic reenactment is on location, I’m playing a character as well. It’s not myself. I’m playing a character, which frees things up. And I am also on location, which adds to the storytelling. And the locations and the costume changes and all of that always are organic to the storytelling.”
Over a dozen of your favorite soap stars are set to reunite on cable. No, SOAPnet didn't all of the sudden remember its name. Investigation Discovery is launching a new block of programming aimed at lapsed soap opera lovers! Smartly christened "Days of Our Knives", the cabler's new daytime block will feature scandalous offerings hosted by soapers Susan Lucci, Kim Zimmer, Robert Newman, Drake Hogestyn and more!
"After the cancellation of All My Children and One Life to Live we saw an opening in the marketplace for some of our most popular series," says ID president and general manager Henry Schleiff. "Our tagline at ID is 'Your Guilty Pleasure' and that's a perfect fit for soap viewers, too. Our show titles even sound like they come from soaps — Happily Never After, Dates From Hell, Deadly Women, Wicked Attraction, Who the Bleep Did I Marry?"
Okay, this Schleiff fellow seems like my kinda TV exec! ID will be using their new soap-themed block to promote the upcoming series Deadly Affairs, hosted by La Lucci herself. The series premieres Sept. 8 at 10/9c. Check out ID's full lineup of upcoming programming hosted by soap stars after the jump!
