NBC's Days of Our Lives continues to be 40 minutes of sudsgasmic fun. Jennifer Horton's (Melissa Reeves) devilish son, JJ (Casey Moss), is proving to be the best foil ever to Dannifer's "epic love story".
I no longer feel so compelled to fast-forward scenes featuring Reeves and Shawn Christian (Daniel) together. Now that JJ is doing such a bang up job keeping them apart, I actually find myself rooting for the couple. Imagine that!
Daniel and Jennifer's brief bursts of sexual passion have also gotten much hotter, likely because their relationship has taken on a forbidden aspect. The Widder Deveraux is as horny as a cooped up housecat for her hairy medic. However, she's torn because of his absolutely disastrous relationship with her troubled spawn.Throw in Jennifer and JJ's Aunt Maggie (Suzanne Rogers)—who also happens to be Daniel's bio mom—and you have another classic, multigenerational family saga for the Hortons.
JJ follows in a long line of this upstanding, WASP clan's teen terrors. The very first episode of Days of Our Lives featured a 16-year-old Julie causing her Grandpa Tom (MacDonald Carey) distress, by shoplifting for attention. Who knew a kid being prone to taking five-finger discounts would still play so well in daytime almost 50 years later? Watch a recap video of Monday's episode of DAYS below.

Praise the Soap Opera Gods, I finally care about the Dannifer (Shawn Christian and Melissa Reeves) storyline on Days of Our Lives! The NBC soap made a smart decision by bringing back Nadia Bjorlin's deliciously-malevolent Chloe Lane, as a foil for the snore-tastic pairing during the first part of the year. For the summer months, DAYS has ramped things up even more, all thanks to breakout, young adult star Casey Moss as bad seed JJ Deveraux.
Cute, cocky JJ is saying everything pissed off Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer fans have been screaming on message boards for months. I absolutely love it when he gives Jennifer and Abigail (Kate Mansi) grief for being able to so readily replace Jack with Daniel.
I find myself LOL'ing like cray-cray everytime JJ trashes Daniel's car. Maybe I need to go lie down on Dr. Marlena Evans' (Deidre Hall) couch?
The only thing that could make JJ's twisted reign of pubescent terror better, is if he hooks up with Jennifer's nemesis, Chloe when she returns to town. Come on DAYS, GO THERE!
Let Chloe pluck JJ's flower, while a horrified Jenn walks in on them. It would be soapgasmic. Watch a clip below of JJ in fine form, making Dannifer's lives hell, from Tuesday's episode of DAYS! READ MORE
Days of Our Lives' Shawn Christian: "Soaps Provide Those Melodramatic Moments and Escapism Viewers Want"By Jillian Bowe on May 29, 2013
Days of Our Lives stud Shawn Christian wants naysayers to know daytime dramas are here to stay. Christian recently spoke with M Live about the current state of soap operas and what still continues to attract viewership. Christian stated:
"Talk shows have flooded the landscape," said Christian. "But telenovelas are hot. People want to have serialized drama they can invest and escape in. The soaps provide those melodramatic moments and escapism viewers want." READ MORE
From Magic Milo (Drew Cheetwood) and his pals stripping down for charity on General Hospital, to Salem’s hottest getting their pants stuffed with dollars on Days of Our Lives, shirtless hunks were everywhere on soaps in April.
Vargas (Sean Douglas) sizzled with Nicole (Arianne Zucker) on DAYS, while Rick (Jacob Young) and Co. worked out at Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful.
