The ladies of The Talk are showing some love to the daytime soap genre, by hosting a special, live post-Daytime Emmys show today. The hour will feature some of the winners of the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

The multigenerational, ensemble storylines that daytime soap operas do best hinge upon the genre heavily utilizing supporting actors. This past TV season saw several soap hunks do a bang up job supporting their canvases. Tonight, one of those thespians will take home the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

Who will it be, General Hospital's Jonathan Jackson (Lucky), Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Sean Blakemore (Shawn) or Jason Thompson (Patrick); or Days of Our Lives' Matthew Ashford (Jack)?

General Hospital’s Laura Wright, Sean Blakemore, Haley Pullos and Jen Lilley (pictured above) were among the soap stars and industry members who celebrated the 2012 Daytime Emmy nominees at the Daytime Emmy Nominee Reception on June 14 by the Daytime Emmy Nominee Reception presented by the Television Academy (or Academy of Television Arts & Sciences).

Held at the SLS Hotel, the reception helped kick off the festivities leading up to daytime’s biggest night on June 23. See more photos after the jump!
