As seems to be par for the course these days – lots of people were having conversations about Rick (Kyle Lowder) and Steffy’s (Jaqueline MacInnes Wood) relationship. The week began with Brooke telling Rick, “you don’t grieve for somebody by getting involved with their twin sister.” Considering he was recently engaged to the twins’ mother too, it’s just downright nasty. Plus, her “granddad” is Rick’s father. Yuck.

James Warwick continued his “intervention” by telling Steffy that Rick was using her. It was all a bit slapdash – he didn’t even bother to talk about it properly with her, he just parroted what Taylor and Stephanie had told him. Yesterday on The Bold and the Beautiful, Stephanie walked in on Brooke in her underwear. Again. Now, I’m not disputing that scenes like these can be campy fun once in a while, but the B&B writers seem to have a bit of an unhealthy obsession.

Both Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke) and Susan Flannery (Stephanie) are fantastic actors and have a lot more to offer than these sub-Benny Hill shenanigans. Time and again they are thrown into these nudge, nudge, wink, wink situations, and when Katherine Kelly Lang does get a chance to stretch her acting muscles (e.g. the rape storyline), it seems the ball gets dropped and there’s no follow-through. Despite last week’s shocking revelation that Rick (Kyle Lowder) was the one sending Forrester designs to Jackie M, he won’t be taking up the presidency at the Marone fashion house anytime soon. Rick confessed to the design theft, and Eric declared, “you are no Ridge Forrester!” Well, thank goodness for that - Ridge is a jackass.  Eric (John McCook) then pushed everything off his desk in a huff and made a real mess – he was livid. However, he'll soon back down and try to wangle a way out of the agreement between Rick and Nick, all the while hiding the truth about Rick’s deception from the rest of his family. This leads to Nick and Eric making a deal.

A welcome end to Steffy and Rick’s borderline-incest romance looked to be on the cards, but Steffy is going to have a change of heart after speaking with Eric.
