INTERVIEW: General Hospital's Tyler Christopher on The Buckeyes, Cartini, The Lying Game and Reclaiming Liz From AJ

The Prince was present and what a gentleman he was!  Tyler Christopher (Nikolas Cassadine) took a royal pause and spoke with me at the Paley Center’s "General Hospital: Celebrating 50 Years and Looking Forward" event.

Christopher and I chatted about our beloved Buckeyes, his ABC Family series The Lying Game, General Hospital's resurgence and what's next for Nikolas, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and AJ (Sean Kanan)

Daytime Confidential: We have one thing in common that I have to mention, we're both huge Ohio State fans.

Tyler Christopher: Oh man, that game was a bummer. That was a huge bummer, that day was not a good day for me. READ MORE

INTERVIEW: Teresa Castillo on Her "Dream" Role as General Hospital's Nurse Sabrina

Student nurse Sabrina Santiago barrelled into Port Charles General Hospital, a mess of hair, thick-rimmed glasses and nervous energy. However, at the recent Nurses Ball, this quirky duckling transformed into quite the magnificent swan, securing Dr. Patrick Drake's (Jason Thompson) heart in the process!

Being gorgeous both inside and out is a trait the new R.N. shares with her portrayer Teresa Castillo. I had the pleasure of chatting up the break-out star at the Paley Center's recent celebration of General Hospital's 50th Anniversary. Castillo shares how much she is enjoying her time in Port Chuck, the friendships she's developed, and dished on what she and best pal Felix (Marc Samuel) will be up to in their battle against Dr. Britch (Kelly Thiebaud).

Daytime Confidential: This all has to be pretty exciting for you?

Teresa Castillo:  I feel like I’m dreaming right now.

DC: General Hospital’s 50th Anniversary, all of this and this is your first role on a soap opera, right?

TC:  It is, it is! I had seen soaps before, but I had no idea what I was getting into with the shooting schedule. It’s challenging, a little bit, to get the hang of it, the flow of it all, but I feel like I finally settled in.

DC: Well you’re not just settled in, you’re in a great love triangle! Pretty great for your first soap role?

TC:  I’m having a blast; I really am.

DC: It’s wonderful when you love what you’re doing. It shows on screen with you.

TC:  Thank you, you couldn’t ask for anything more, right?  To be able to do what you love for a living and have other people enjoy it as well.  It’s just so fulfilling and I’m so thankful. READ MORE

Who Should Elizabeth Find Love With on General Hospital?

Frank Valentini’s interview with Sara Bibel, in which he discussed Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) impending love story, made me ponder who might reawaken our favorite Port Charles nurse’s flame of love.

Since I’ve never thought of Patrick’s (Jason Thompson) and Elizabeth’s relationship in brother/sister terms, I have always hoped they'd explore something more. At the same time, I think Elizabeth and AJ (Sean Kanan) have onscreen chemistry together.

There are a number of eligible single Port Charles men or former residents who Elizabeth could be find love with. Johnny’s (Brandon Barash) chances with Carly (Laura Wright) seem to be deteriorating, especially with Todd (Roger Howarth) working so hard to keep her. John McBain could take interest in Elizabeth, since Sam (Kelly Monaco) is still adjusting to Jason’s (Steve Burton) absence.

Maybe General Hospital could develop another Elizabeth vs. Sam rivalry, but over John this time? Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) could return to Port Charles to woo Elizabeth, though Valentini’s hint Liz’s soon to be man is already on canvas might pose a problem there.

Who would you like to see Elizabeth paired with on General Hospital?

General Hospital Showrunner Teases New Love Interest For Liz!

Elizabeth Webber's (Rebecca Herbst) love life has been a bit lacking as of late on General Hospital, but it looks like Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati intend to remedy the situation. Though he ruled out pairing Liz with Patrick (Jason Thompson) or AJ (Sean Kanan), in an interview with Sara Bibel at Xfinity, Valentini talked about their plans for bring love back to Liz's life.

Some people feel that she has a storyline that should rightfully be Liz’s, in that Robin was Liz’s best friend but Sabrina’s the one saving the nurse’s ball and getting involved with Patrick.

But that’s just wrong because Liz and Patrick are like brother and sister. It would be creepy if they were together. Liz has a new love interest on the horizon.

People love Liz and there is concern about her storyline.

I love Liz. I love Becky [Herbst]. She’s fantastic. But something needs to be built. I think that character’s been bounced around. She’s got three different children from three different men. If she’s going to say, “I love you” to somebody, it’s got to be real and it’s got to mean something. She’s not going to jump right into it. That’s not who she is. I think everyone’s forgotten a little bit what makes Liz the character you most identify with and most want to be. Becky’s got the acting chops to pull it off if you go through every step of the relationship. READ MORE

DC's Top 10 Soap Opera Couples of 2012

No. 10: Molly and TJ, General Hospital

General Hospital has been giving us cute teen couples since Laura (Genie Francis) and Scotty (Kin Shriner). In 2012, the tradition continued when precocious Molly Lansing Davis (Haley Pullos) fell hard for TJ (Tequan Richmond), the wayward charge of Shawn (Sean Blakemore). Molly and TJ have survived parental interference, hormones and toxic water, but can the YA lovebirds contend with Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) and Connie Falconeri (Kelly Sullivan), now that they're interning at Manning Enterprises?
