According to The Hollywood Reporter, American Idol's Randy Jackson is pitching a daytime talk show. The trade paper claims Jackson's potential chat show won't be all about music, given his background. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter:

Scott McCreery Wins Idol, but Beyonce Owned the Finale!
By Akash Nikolas on May 26, 2011

The worst season of American Idol ended tonight in another typically bloated 2-hour finale. The winner was country crooner Scott "Scotty" McCreery, of whom I was not a fan, but as I stated earlier, he was the only sensible choice. To her credit, runner-up Lauren Alaina did not burst into uncontrollable tears upon the announcement of her defeat, despite the fact that she's cried during every other results show.
Just as they failed to impress all season long, neither of these two gave memorable performances on the finale. Hey, at least they're consistent. Indeed, only Beyonce really commanded the Finale stage, delivering an incredible performance that showed more emotional connection and technical skill than both of those kids and Jennifer Lopez showed on that stage all season long combined! J Lo may have gotten People Magazine's mirror-mirror approval, but Beyonce showed up to remind her, "I still run this bitch."

How Do You Solve a Problem Like Pia?
By Akash Nikolas on April 08, 2011
By now everyone knows about Pia Toscano's shocking elimination from American Idol. As a weekly recapper/fan of the show, it really did come as a huge surprise. Toscano was a better singer than almost everyone left in the competition, and she was perceived as the undisputed frontrunner. Even if she wasn't going to win, she seemed destined for a spot in the finals, so to finish in 9th place was quite a shock. What went wrong, and how can Idol fix it?
American Idol Top 11 Performances Re-Do!
By Akash Nikolas on March 30, 2011
I love that J-Lo knows Randy Jackson is an idiot, and she basically interrupts and talks during all his critiques now. Maybe she’s just translating for us? Either way: Thanks babe. It’s double elimination and Elton John week, and since the show mentioned Casey’s unmerited save a bazillion times – and gave him the best song in Sir Elton’s catalogue – expect Naima and Haley to be in trouble again.
1) Scotty McCreery – “Country Comfort”
He made it country and comfortable, and he’s gotten so good at his one-trick, he’ll ride that pony all the way to at least Final Three. READ MORE

American Idol Top 11 Performances!
By Akash Nikolas on March 23, 2011
J-Lo proves she’s the best judge by giving actual constructive criticism. Randy Jackson proves you can be useless for ten years by being useless for ten years. Steven Tyler proves his face isn’t the only thing he can wear out by wearing out the word “beautiful.” Finally, Ryan Seacrest proves everything we’ve ever thought about him by emphasizing the word “couture.”
Casey Abrams – Marvin Gaye’s “Heard It Through the Grapevine”
More like heard it through an angry lion on a bad cell phone in a tunnel.
Thia Megia – Martha and the Vandellas’ "Heat Wave”
Forecast: Fair to middling.
Jacob Lusk – Marvin Gaye & Tami Terrell's “You’re All I Need to Get By”
You’re all I need to go deaf. READ MORE
