BFF's Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry are in business together once again. Deadline is reporting OWN and Perry have signed a multi-year deal for two scripted series. Perry will write, direct and executive produce the series for a mid-2013 debut on OWN. This is the first venture into scripted development for OWN. Said Winfrey:
I have been looking forward to the day when we would be in the position to enter the world of scripted television. That day has come. We are all energized by the opportunity to collaborate with Tyler who has a proven track record for producing highly successful cable series.
Oprah’s cable network OWN has received more positive ratings news. According to Deadline, Iyanla: Fix My Life was the channel’s best debut since the network premiered. Meanwhile, Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s hit a series high with its second season premiere.
Featuring life coach Iyanla Vanzant, Fix My Life’s 10 PM Saturday show earned a 1.18 rating in the women 25-54 demo and 1.1 million total viewers. That was second in the demo for its time period among all ad-supported cable networks behind ABC Family’s airing of The Blind Side.
On the heels of a custody ruling in his favor, R&B star Usher is taking a trip to the hot seat on Oprah's Next Chapter. The singer opens up to Oprah about his custody battle with ex-wife Tameka Raymond, the death of his stepson and his emotional breakdown in court. Get ready to wake up to Oprah in the morning. The Mighty O has been listed as one of several celebrity co-hosts tapped to sit in at Good Morning America, with Robin Roberts having temporarily departed the show for medical leave.
While Roberts is out, Winfrey,Katie Couric, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Chris Rock, Rob Lowe, Kelly Ripa, the entire cast of Modern Family and other surprise guests will fill in. An emotional Roberts told viewers:
I'm having to move up my schedule. I am very blessed. Forty percent of Americans can't even take a sick day, and here I know that I'm going to have a job when I come back.

Oprah was the Queen of Daytime and now she adds another notch to her legacy. The Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary latest additions include Winfrey's catchphrase “Aha moment,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The first reference found by the good people at Merriam-Webster for "aha moment" dates to 1939 in a book of psychology. Its use was sporadic until the '90s, when Oprah Winfrey began using it on her no-longer-on-the-air TV show.
"In fact, aha moment is so closely associated with Oprah that in 2009, she and Mutual of Omaha got involved in a legal imbroglio over Mutual of Omaha's use of the phrase, with Oprah claiming that aha moment was her catchphrase and she had the rights to it," Stamper said.
The case was settled out of court in 2009. READ MORE
