Law & Order: SVU’s Kelli Giddish Brings the Heat at NBC Upfronts (PHOTOS)

Law & Order: SVU star and former Pine Valley resident Kelli Giddish (ex-Di Henry, All My Children) and SVU co-star Danny Pino were among the NBC stars who turned out to promote their shows at the Peacock Network’s 2013 Upfront Presentation on May 13. Blair Underwood (ex-Bobby Blue, One Life to Live) and former daytime talk show host Nate Berkus also have new shows, Ironside and American Dream Builders respectively, premiering on NBC during the 2013-2014 season. Oprah protégé and former daytime talk show host Nate Berkus has landed a home makeover reality competition on NBC, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 10-episode series will be called Renovation Nation and “feature home builders and designers competing for a cash prize, with voting to determine the final winner and two viewers ultimately awarded dream homes.”

OWN Acquires Rachael Ray and Nate Berkus Cable Rights

Oprah is looking within her TV family of talent to help boost OWN’s ratings. According to The Hollywood Reporter, OWN has purchased the exclusive cable rights to Rachael Ray and The Nate Berkus Show.
“Rachael and Nate are a natural fit for OWN’s expanding daytime programming lineup,” said OWN president Erik Logan of the four-hour block. “It will be great to have Rachael’s energy and Nate’s upbeat presence on our air.”
The Nate Berkus Show Gets Axed

After two seasons, The Nate Berkus Show is being cancelled. According to Broadcasting & Cable, Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Studios have decided to pull the plug on the Oprah protege's show after the current season ends. Sony and Harpo released a joint statement saying:
After careful consideration, we have decided that The Nate Berkus Show will not return for a third season in the fall. We are grateful for the hard work and heart that Nate, [executive producer] Corin Nelson and their entire team have poured into the show, and we're very proud of what they've delivered.
The show's second season is still in production. It will continue to produce and air all of the original episodes that are scheduled. Berkus stated:
I'm incredibly proud of my hard working and talented staff, and proud of the show we were able to produce every day.
The Nate Berkus Show debuted in 2010. The interior designer's show never seemed to grab the ratings prior Oprah spins-offs earned. This caused industry watchers to wonder if it would stick around. Once NBC inked talk show deals for Jeff Probst and Steve Harvey, The Nate Berkus Show's renewal status started to look bleak, despite Sony and NBC locking the show into a three-year deal. With two new shows coming from the peacock network in 2012, Berkus' third season seemed highly unlikely because of a lack of time slot and being costly to keep in production. READ MORE
Deidre Hall to Guest on The Nate Berkus Show Today!
