Michael Fairman

Heavens to Xenu: Young and Restless Star Michael Fairman SUES Chiropractor in Continuing Scientology Drama!

Michael Fairman (Murphy, The Young and the Restless) isn't happy that his former chiropractor has stopped straightening out the kinks in his family's backs. Especially since he claims it's because of his status as persona non grata with the Church of Scientology. According to TMZ, Fairman is suing the L. Ron Hubbard-reading back cracker for discrimination, claiming she doesn't want to treat his family because he started speaking out against the Church after leaving the religious practice of Scientology. Dear Xenu in heaven, if this ain't a mess!

Village Voice Lists Young and Restless Actor Michael Fairman Among "Top 25 People Crippling Scientology"

The Village Voice is once again going after the controversial-yet-celeb friendly religion of Scientology, and lo and behold a soaper has been mentioned among the indie pub's list of The Top 25 People Crippling Scientology!

Michael Fairman is a very familiar face from television and film. The character actor has portrayed villains in productions like the Firefly series, the "Penske" business man in Seinfeld, and for years was a member of the The Young and the Restless cast. He was also a longtime Scientologist, but he not only recently left the church, in a rare move he made public his "suppressive person declare" which listed his "crimes." He's now speaking out in a big way, and continues to shake things up at Marty Rathbun's blog. READ MORE

Michael Fairman Claims Y&R Costar Told Him "You Have an Enemy at Work" Over Scientology Drama!

Ousted Scientologist Michael Fairman, who plays Kay Chancellor's (Jeanne Cooper) husband Murphy on The Young and the Restless has made some fairly damning claims to the Village Voice about not only the controversial religion, but one of his Genoa City costars!

There is a Scientologist working on the show," he says of The Young and the Restless. "She told me, 'You have an enemy at work.' So I went to the producers. They laughed at the whole thing," he says.

"It has occurred to me that they might do something to defame my character. But look, I'm 77. I don't give a fuck," he says. "I'm a good enough actor that I think that's not going to be any concern. I mean, I don't think Tom Cruise would hire me, but I kind of dislike him for what he has allowed to go on." READ MORE

DAYS' James Scott on Ejami Reunion: "They Want You to Wait For It"

Will they or won't they? That's the question On Air On Soaps' Michael Fairman asked James Scott about Days Of Our Lives reuniting "Ejami" once again.

MICHAEL:Would you love to see EJ and Sami (or affectionately known as “EJami”) get back together? Or, is it time for a new woman for EJ?

JAMES:It depends on what they do with Sami, because EJ and Sami worked well when they were both bad. Recently Sami has been more of a ‘goody girl’. It’s harder to pair the ‘goody girl’ with the bad guy, but they have these kids that connect them and these huge connections between the two of them. You have to have more of that for a relationship to work. So either I have to be not so bad or she has to be not so good, or we meet in the middle. There are lot of people who are very supportive of Sami and EJ. I have now been working in soaps for six years, and it seems to me that when the fans really want something, and the networks and the producers know about it, they want to give it to you as much as you want to get it. But they want you to have to wait.

Jonathan Jackson: "Great Intense Material" To Come

On Air On Soaps' Michael Fairman chatted with Jonathan Jackson on what viewers should expect to see with his return as Lucky Spencer.

MICHAEL: I mean, you wouldn’t be back if there was not a major emotional story for Lucky?

JONATHAN: Oh, yeah! There is going to be great intense material. I don’t know long term, but I do know what the audience knows in terms of Elizabeth and Nikolas. There are only certain limited places they can go, and that will get intense at some point. I look at that as a set- up, where it can go anywhere… and the relationship between Lucky and Luke. Tony and I have had some great scenes that feel like re-establishing something. Again, I did not watch the other versions of Lucky, but for me it’s picking up where I left off ten years ago, but now as an adult. There is a lot of interesting chemistry going on there. Then there is Ethan. I have only had some group scenes with him, and there is a lot of potential for story there…and again, with him being a con man and Lucky being a detective. Lucky is Luke’s son, so he has a dangerous side to him that could potentially take him either way, when it comes to that stuff.

Sounds like Ethan better watch out.. READ MORE

Lynn Herring: "Daytime is a Lot Classier Than People Think"

Soap vixen Lynn Herring dished with On Air On Soaps' Michael Fairman about her thoughts of the status of daytime and former alma mater, General Hospital.

MICHAEL: So while you were finishing your run on As the World Turns, sadly, Guiding Light concluded. I was wondering what your feelings were, stepping back in to this genre at this very tumultuous time? What was that like for you?

LYNN: I had lunch with Jane Eliot (Tracy, GH) and we discussed how the audience was so articulate about Guiding Light and how much they loved the show and were so sad when it ended, and that on GH, Mafia and bad violence has turned people away. The networks don’t get that our viewers are so intuitive and smart. Even GH people, who had never watched GL and are faithful to their show, understood what it meant to lose a show like that. Daytime is a lot classier than people think, and it hurt to be back on daytime and see what has happened in the genre. I love this genre!

Herring also sounds off on pal Stuart Damon getting the shaft on GH and The Young and the Restless' treatment of its veteran actors. READ MORE
