Passions alum Lindsay Hartley assures Days of Our Lives fan the role of Arianna won't become Theresa 2.0 now that she's assumed the part.

"This character is nothing like Theresa," Hartley told me on the red carpet outside of the 36th Annual Daytime Emmys. "Arianna is a drug dealer, but she has a strong motivation for what she's doing that you will see very soon. What I love about being on DAYS is that the stories have a resolution. ABC Daytime had better hope all the relocating and high defining the Mouse House is doing works—and fast. Both One Life to Live and All My Children hit new all-time lows in total viewers the week of Aug. 24-28. (Source: SON). OLTL dropped 48,000 viewers over the previous week, yet managed to hold steady in households, tying the soap's all-time low for that demo. OLTL went down one-tenth of a point among women 18-49, tying its all-time low in that coveted demo as well. AMC lost 75,000 total viewers over the previous week, yet held steady in households, tying its all-time lowest rating in that demo. (Boy are those ABC ratings press releases a bunch of PR hog manure!)  AMC also went down one-tenth of a point among women 18-49, tying its all-time low in that demo.

General Hospital lost more total viewers than its sister sudsers, but went up in the most coveted of demos. GH lost 91,000 total viewers over the previous week. GH also went down one-tenth of a ratings point in households, however ABC's flagship sudser actually increased one-tenth of a point among women 18-49. The soap, which took home the Outstanding Writing award at the Daytime Emmys this past weekend, has lost a staggering 362,000 viewers year-to-date, much more than any other soap opera. What are your First Impressions of Lindsay Hartley as Arianna Hernandez on Days of Our Lives? I don't know why, but seeing her, as Arianna, snark at Brady (Eric Martsolf) brought a smile to my face. Arianna just became a whole lot more interesting.
