Lauren Koslow

Manipulating Mothers

I have always liked Kate's (Lauren Koslow) manipulations on Days of Our Lives and I couldn't help but smile today as she tried to manipulate Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) and Dr. Daniel (Shawn Christian) together. I'm not sure what to think about a possible Chloe and Daniel pairing, but throw in Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) for a triangle and it could be good.

Would you like a Chloe and Daniel pairing?

The Salem Slayer

Forgive me for my righteous indignation but the mere thought of Melanie (Molly Burnett) donating anything, as Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) suggested getting tested for today, to Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow), whether it be an organ, blood or a bad cold is like hearing someone scratch a chalkboard but visually.

Sure, pairing a newbie like Molly Burnett with an Emmy winning veteran like Suzanne Rogers and then having Melanie donate anything to Kate is a tried and true soap formula. In fact it's pretty darn dear close to what All My Children did with Babe but in a different type of storyline. Problem is, Molly Burnett doesn't have an ounce of the personal appeal, charisma or talent that Alexa Havins did, which allowed the viewer to hate the character but like and/or respect the actress.

The character of Melanie is quite literally becoming the character that ate Salem alive. Truth be told she should be called The Salem Slayer because that's what she's doing, slashing, hatcheting and stabbing her way through every storyline and scene with a bloody gusto unmatched by even the Saw movie franchise. Days of Our Lives: Who Will The Axe Fall On Next?

I can hear the blade being sharpened. The axe is about to fall, but who's head is on the chopping block? There's been plenty of rumour and innuendo. Take your pick. Who do you think will be the next to leave Days of Our Lives?

Days' Lauren Koslow to Michael Fairman: "This Is Why We Do What We Do"

Soap journo Michael Fairman has all the scoop from the recent "Day of Days" event on his website MichaelFairmanSoaps.com. Fairman interviewed some of our favorite Salemites like Drake Hogestyn, Peter Reckell, Bryan Datillo, Blake Berris, Renee Jones, James Scott, Lauren Koslow and many others. Here's what the fierce Koslow had to say about taping scenes during her character  Kate Roberts' harrowing cancer storyline:

MICHAEL:

Today, all the actors have said how amazing these major scenes that you just finished taping were!

LAUREN:

I did have major scenes, and they were really exhausting and draining. I got in the car to drive home last Friday and I was a zombie. And this may sound really odd, but this is why we do what we do, and why we became actors in the beginning. It’s just that feeling and it’s a catharsis. It’s all of that, and everybody is doing that. It’s a storyline that is difficult.

Days of Our Lives: Anniversary Tribute

November 8 marked 43 years of Days of Our Lives on our screens. I know lately we have been less than satisfied at what the show has had to offer, but to celebrate the rich history of the show, I felt the need to take a trip back down memory lane. Soaps have that effect on people. You get carried away to a place filled with fantasy and nostalgia - after all this is where it all began soaps. We hope one day our favourite shows will return to the landmark it once used to be. Big Sigh.

There are so many characters in this clip, too many to mention, but it's actually worth the 9 or so minutes. The scary thing about this, at the halfway mark, you actually begin to think of your age. I know I did anyway - a frightful experience. Ok, so I've just turned 30, but why in God's name can I remember things like Kimberly giving birth to Andrew in a stable just like it was yesterday. See, that's nostalgia for you. READ MORE
