It looks like Lady Gaga’s “little monsters” turned out in force to buy her new CD Born This Way. According to Billboard, the album sold 1,108,000 copies and is only the 17th album to sell a million or more copies in one week.  However, sales of Born This Way did not top Britney Spears’ record for most albums sold by a woman in its first week. Spears’ Oops! I Did It Again sold 1,319,000 copies.

I had high expectations for Born This Way, but after the first “Born This Way” and “Judas” I became more and more concerned about the upcoming album. Having listened to it now, I think The Washington Post summed up how I feel about Born This Way perfectly.

“Whether by fluke, curse or cosmic coinky-dink, Lady Gaga's new music is everything that she's not. It's boring.”

What Grade Do You Give Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Album?

Lady Gaga released the music video for her latest single “Judas” off her upcoming CD, Born This Way, on May 5 and it's left me more than a little worried.  When Lady Gaga first debuted “Born This Way” I didn’t fall in the love with the song. I hoped her next single, which turned out to be “Judas,” would be a song I enjoyed. Unfortunately, “Judas” and its music video have done nothing to reassure me. In fact, "Judas" just grates my nerves every time I listen to it. If Gaga’s third single is as unenjoyable as the first two have been, I’m going to find myself in all-out panic mode. My Pop Confidential podcast co-host Regan Cellura wants me to "hate the Gaga," but to do that would feel like sacrilege.
