Look Out Baby, Here Comes The Closer

The series, which is spinning off Mary McDonnell’s Captain Sharon Raydor in Major Crimes in 2012, has a catchy new promo you can check out after the jump. Watching it almost makes me wish I grew up to be a big city crime fighter, or I should go buy a box of Ding Dongs. I can’t decide which.
In other TNT news, the cable network has renewed the intense sci-fi series Falling Skies for a 10-episode second season, according to Zap2it.

The Closer Getting a Reprieve?

Will The Closer live on? According to TV Line the soon-to-be defunct show may continue without lead actress Kyra Sedgwick. Sedgwick announced plans to depart after the current, seventh season of the smash hit ends. Once the actress made her announcement , TNT chose to end the series. However, TV Line's Michael Ausiello alleges the show may expand the last season's episodes up from 15 to to 21, push forward with a spin off and/or continue with a new lead.

Kyra Sedgwick on Madoff Ponzi Scheme: "We Did Not Lose Everything"

Krya Sedgwick is clearing up the rumors surrounding how much money she and her husband Kevin Bacon lost in Berarnd Madoff's headline grabbing Ponzi scheme. Sedgwick —who is celebrating a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and The Closer's fifth season—told the Associated Press:
"It's been really unpleasant and makes you feel really vulnerable. But the fact of the matter is that we did not lose everything. We lost hard-earned money that we worked very hard for that was what we thought in a safe place. It's painful but a lot of people lost a lot more. And we have a lot of things to be grateful for in our life, and we never ever forget that."

Kyra Sedgwick Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Kyra Sedgwick, rocking a pair of white-gold and diamond, pave Parentesi Openwork bangles, received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday June 8, 2009. The honor took place on the same day that Sedgwick's hit show The Closer returned TNT for its fifth season. Sedgwick made her acting debut on NBC's Another World at the age of 16.
Primetime Emmy's Nominate Six Soap Alum

Six soap alum have received Primetime Emmy nomations in the major acting categories at this year's 60th Annual Emmy Awards. From left to right.
- Kyra Sedgwick, the star of TNT's The Closer and who once appeared on Another World was nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress category.
- Rainn Wilson, star of NBC's The Office and who once appeared on One Life to Live as Casey Keegan was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category.
- Holland Taylor, who stars on CBS's Two and a Half Men as Charlie Sheen's mother once starred on All My Children as Jill Ollinger. Taylor received a nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in Comedy Series category.
- Bryan Cranston, the star of HBO's In Treatment once appeared on One Life to Live as Dean Stella. Cranston received an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series nomination.
- Mary-Lousie Parker, the star of Showtime's Weeds and who once appeared on Ryan's Hope received an Oustanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series nomination.
- Alec Baldwin, the star of NBC's 30 Rock and once appeared on The Doctors received an Oustanding Actor in a Comedy Series nomination.
