Last summer One Life to Live’s Kim Zimmer stopped by the Peter Jay Sharpe Theatre to see her former Guiding Light "son" Tom Pelphrey in his play In God’s Hat. This last week Pelphrey returned the favor. The actor popped into the Westside Theatre on March 10, in New York City, to support Zimmer in the production of Love, Loss and What I Wore. While it isn't nice to be happy about anyone being out of a job in this economy, I can't say I'm too upset to hear that Brian Kerwin is reportedly leaving One Life to Live. Charlie Banks started off as an amazing character, and great love interest for Viki (Erika Slezak), but post Jared dying, Kerwin began playing the character as a ham, with an extra helping of cheese grits. There was a mini Guiding Light reunion at the 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards last night. Tina Sloan, Michael O’Leary, Orlagh Cassidy and Jordan Clarke (pictured above with One Life to Live’s Hillary B. Smith) , as well as Kim Zimmer, all turned out for the festivities.
Hosted by former As the World Turns star, Gotham The Series creator and Outstanding Lead Actress nominee Martha Byrne, the 2nd Annual Indie Soap Awards were held at The Ailey Studios in New York City Sunday night.
Hot on the heels of co-hosting the 4th Annual Curtains Up For a Cure, One Life to Live’s Kim Zimmer has another project to prepare for. La Zimmer will appear in the off-Broadway production of Love, Loss, and What I Wore from February 16 until March 20. Featured at the Westside Threatre, Love, Loss, and What I Wore “uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and poignant stories that everyone can relate to.” Barbara Rhoades, Sabrina Le Beauf, Orfeh and Katrina Bowden will join Zimmer in the play.
One Life to Live’s Kim Zimmer co-hosted the 4th Annual Curtains Up For a Cure in New York City at the Village E Cinema on January 31. The benefit, hosted by comedian Judy Gold (pictured above with Zimmer), helped raise money for the Huntington’s Disease Society of America. Strasser:I don't think it makes for as exciting a show when they get along. I guess we could both go off and do a very funny Thelma and Louise thing — "Viki and Dorian: the Road Trip." But heaven forbid this new friendship becomes permanent! Those two ladies being at odds has always been my bread and butter.
