Walk a Mile in Y&R's Joshua Morrow and Kate Linder's Shoes to Help Foster Children
By Jamey Giddens on May 18, 2010

The Young and the Restless stars Joshua Morrow (Nick) and Kate Linder (Esther), along with other celebs, are hoping fans will want to walk a mile in their shoes to help children in foster care. The stars have donated autographed shoes to Hillsides Foster Soles, an online auction of celebrity shoes and photographs, conducted by Hillsides, a Los Angeles foster children's charity. Hillsides works to shine a light on issues foster children face in the system.
"I can't imagine how tough it would be to be in the foster care system, and I'm glad that Hillsides is giving these kids a safe place to stay and services to help them feel stable," says Morrow. "I was happy to part with these cool Nikes to help them raise some funds." READ MORE

DC Interview: Y&R's Kate Linder Chats about Chloe, Esther's Love Life and Hosting the First Annual Celebrity Charity Gala
By Mike Jubinville on February 08, 2010
One of daytime's busiest women, Kate Linder, is at it again. This Thurs., Feb. 11, from 6 pm-10 pm PST the actress/fight attendant/humanitarian will be hosting Emerging Magazine's First Annual Celebrity Charity Gala to benefit The ALS Association of Greater Los Angeles at the Montage Beverly Hills Hotel, 225 North Canon Drive in Beverly Hills.
I recently caught up with Linder, who shared why her work to fight ALS is so important to her and what it means to have Esther Valentine's daughter Kate/Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) back home in Genoa City with her on The Young and the Restless.
Daytime Confidential: Your commitment to finding a cure for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is strong. Please give us some background on how you became aware of ALS.
Kate Linder: I had heard of ALS and knew that Michael Zaslow of Guiding Light had the disease. When we learned that my brother-in-law Scott was diagnosed with ALS, my husband and I decided to commit to working for a cure. Over the past five years, our commitment has only grown stronger as we meet more ALS patients and families. I have had the fortunate opportunity of becoming the celebrity spokesperson for The ALS Association for the past five years and participating in national activities including testifying in Congress and lobbying on their behalf during The ALS Association's annual advocacy days each May. We also do fundraising for various chapters throughout the United States including the Walk to D'Feet ALS events. READ MORE
