Julie Marie Berman
It's a happy, happy day for fans of The Bold and the Beautiful's Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), which any Daytime Confidential reader knows, I am Chief BeLieFer among them! The striking and emotive actress was nominated for her very first Daytime Emmy nomination this morning. READ MORE
Already missing Julie Marie Berman on your boob tubes? Never fear. The ex-General Hospital star will be back on TV this May 2, when she guests on Two and a Half Men. READ MORE
The celebration of General Hospital’s first 50, glorious years gave me the opportunity to have a little chat with scene stealer Kirsten Storms (Maxie). At the recent Paley Center event, Storms and I chatted about her exiting pal Julie Marie Berman (ex-Lulu), returning friend Kristen Alderson (formerly Starr; soon-to-be a new character) and Maxie’s two dads, Frisco (Jack Wagner) and Mac (John J. York).
Storms also reveals if she’s filmed with Emme Rylan, who recently started airing as Lulu, and shared some sage words Jane Elliot (Tracy) shared when Berman departed the role.
Daytime Confidential: I know you’re really good friends with Julie Marie Berman. Those final scenes the two of you had together were simply amazing.
Kirsten Storms: It was so horrible.
DC: Now we have a new Lulu. Have you filmed with Emme Rylan yet?
KS: I have, yes, a lot over the last few days especially and she’s a great girl. I know she came from a couple of soaps, so I had mad respect for her when she started. Jane Elliot said it perfectly when I was talking to her about Julie leaving, it’s not that I miss her as Lulu; it’s just painful that she won’t be there for me at work. My work life is around hanging out with her for the most part, getting into trouble, doing those sorts of things with Julie. READ MORE
Access Hollywood visited the General Hospital set and caught up with Kirsten Storms. She dished her favorite memories; including Maxie pretending to be pregnant with Lucky's baby. She also shared how she will miss Julie Marie Berman and what it's like to work with Jack Wagner. Watch the clip after the jump!
Lulu's disappearance (Which also marks Julie Marie Berman's exit) will have the Spencer clan mobilizing this week on General Hospital. Who will be most determined to find Mrs. Falconeri? Her proud papa, of course!
In the March 18-April 1 issue of ABC Soaps In Depth, Anthony Geary revealed how Lulu's crisis will impact Luke. Said Geary:
"It's really hard for him," says Anthony Geary (Luke) of the situation. "Lulu is his baby girl. She's the princess, the cupcake, the gumdrop."
Star-crossed lovers Gary and Valene Ewing (Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark) shared a reunion on Monday night's episode of TNT's Dallas that was more bitter than sweet. The way brilliant Dallas 2.0 writer Cynthia Cidre has it scripted, Gary and Val—who were blissfully reunited at the end of Knots Landing and still together in 1997 reunion movie Knots Landing: Back to the Cul-de-Sac—have now split, due to Gary falling off the wagon and bankrupting the couple!
While the Knots fan boy in me was a bit brokenhearted to learn Gary and Val hadn't lived a life of happy barbecues with neighbors Karen and Mac Mackenzie (Michele Lee and Kevin Dobson) on Southern California's fictional Seaview Circle, the Wishful Storyteller in me realized Gary and Val's golden years crisis could serve as the perfect launching pad for a new generation of marital melodramas via a Knots Landing continuation!
