Is The View ready to play ring around the table? According to US Weekly, the ABC gabfest is in serious talks with guest host Jenny McCarthy to fill Joy Behar’s soon to be vacant spot.
"She is in serious talks right now," an insider tells Us Weekly of the star, 40, who is currently hosting her own low-rated chatfest on VH1. "Her show isn't quite working out, so she's definitely open to it."
It was all the ladies of The View could do to keep from bursting into fits of giggles, while discussing convicted murderer Jodi Arias earlier this week. Arias deciding to plead for her life—after first stating she wanted the death penalty—by pitching the courtroom on her plans to start a book club, sell a T-shirt and learn Spanish, among other things, had Whoopi and Co. struggling to keep their composure.
The jury deciding whether Arias should receive the death penalty or life in prison for killing her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, resumes deliberations today, after previously being unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Watch a clip from The View after the jump!
The majority of daytime talk's biggest names (Ellen DeGeneres and Kelly Ripa to name a few!) have skipped out on the Daytime Emmy Awards in recent years. Could that be changing this year? TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan posed the question to Scot Safon, executive vice-president and general manager of HLN, which will air the kudocast on June 16. Said Safon:
"We are outreaching as aggressively as possible to all the nominees," Safon says. "We want them to know this year is important. The themes that will rock this show are themes they will be proud to be associated with. To be in that room as part of the daytime community will be an incredible opportunity. The show is not just an announcement of winners. It's a celebration people are going to remember for a long time to come." READ MORE
The hubbub over who will replace Joy Behar and possibly Elisabeth Hasselbeck when one or both leaves The View this year doesn’t seem to have phased fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg. When questioned about their departures by Us Weekly, she said she doesn’t care or “give a f-ck.”
"Let me tell you this about The View: I take a paycheck every other week. That's all I do. I could give a sh-t what comes. I do my job -- I have a contract. That's where I stand. I don't give a f-ck," Goldberg said.
