Jason Cook

Yay! He Shaved... and Other GH Spoiler Pics!

Dr. Matt Hunter (Jason Cook) shaved! Take a look at some of the latest SPOILER Pics from General Hospital!

The Innocence of Youth, Lost

The other day I was thinking, quite a shock I know, about the fact that very few of today's soaps have true "teen" (pre college) storylines anymore.

Gone are the days of teen storylines such as General Hospital's Lucky, Elizabeth, Nikolas and Emily, Days of Our Lives' Belle, Shawn, Chloe and Brady and The Young and the Restless' Glo by Jabot Kids. The classic "four teen" formula that dominated much of soaps through the late 90's, and made stars out of Jonathan Jackson, Rebecca Herbst, Tyler Christopher, Kirsten Storms, Jason Cook, Nadia Bjorlin, Kyle Lowder, Farah Fath and countless others before them, seems to have been replaced by the "duo."

As the World Turns has Parker and Liberty. General Hospital doesn't have any true teens. The Young and the Restless has Noah and Eden. The Bold and the Beautiful has Stephanie and Marcus (not true teens).  All My Children's last attempt at recreating the forumla bombed and the show is now rebuilding with Colby and Petey. Guiding Light has Daisy and Rafe. Days of Our Lives,  which practically defined the formula with Sami, Austin, Carrie and Lucas, has no true teen characters except maybe Melanie. A character not even Blake Berris' Nick Fallon (a post college character) can save.

At the moment only One Life to Live seems to be following the "four teen" formula with Starr (Kristen Alderson), Cole (Brandon Buddy), Langston (Brittany Underwood) and Markko Rivera (Jason Tam). Now granted, at least one of these four actors isn't actually a teen, but the characters are all still in highschool. In honor of these four characters I thought I'd see which couple fans enjoy most.

Which couple is your favorite?

Happy Birthday Jason Cook!

A big Happy Birthday to General Hospital's Jason Cook!

The Doctors Drake?

The latest SPOILERS have all said Dr. Matt Hunter (Jason Cook) is actually Dr. Noah Drake's (Rick Springfield) son.  What' s not clear is, did Noah know he had another child or did the self proclaimed dead beat dad walk away from his youngest son?

After the Clinic goes BOOM, with Matt and Nadine in it, Matt is taken to GH for treatment.  Is the above a glimpse of the big reveal?  I'm not 100% sure as to when the news of Matt's real identity is revealed but I am a fan of this storyline.  It ties Patrick's (Jason Thompson) fears of turning out like his father to his impending fatherhood, and it ties Matt Hunter to the canvas without forcing a Matt and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) pairing down our throats.  My biggest fear since Jason Cook joined the cast was that TPTB would try too hard to recreate the magic Kirsten and Jason had at Days of our Lives, and that the pairing would fail with Jason hanging in limbo.  Now, by attaching him to a legacy character like Noah and one of General Hospital's hottest stars (Thompson) it gives the character more to stand on then an old pairing from another soap.

They have certainly laid the groundwork for this storyline.  The would-be brothers, Matt and Patrick, have already had a few disagreements.

Are fans happy with this storyline direction?

General Hospital Spoilers & Scoops!

Here's the Scoop! 09.03.08

A little clarification on the Elizabeth RUMORS... IF THIS STORYLINE happens, she will be presumed dead. They will look for her, however the accident is said to be bad and it will appear that there is no way she survived. IF Jason winds up with the boys... it's because he can not let someone else raise his son. What about Cam? IF Jason has both Jake and Cam, I would PRESUME its simply so the boys are not split up. I know, I know, Lucky is on Jake's birth certificate and he's the only father Cam knows. BUT Lucky also knows he's not Jake's true father.

Matt and Maxie... getting closer much to Spinelli's disappointment.  Yes, I have seen the RUMBLINGS that Jason Cook has shaved his beard off. We will see. IF it was fairly recent, expect to see it onscreen in a couple weeks.

Scrubs... early labor scare coming up. Patrick backs off to relieve Robin's stress. Mac sighting? I hear he's there. READ MORE

Rebel With An Environmental Cause

Days of Our Lives'  Peter Reckell is a rebel with an environmental cause according to a new interview with TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco.

In the interview, Branco asks Reckell about Days of Our Lives being renewed, his thoughts on Ed Scott, his fans, Dena Higley's writing and the importance of Shawn Brady to Bo. Here is an excerpt.

TVG: It’s a shame Days fired Bo’s mini-me, Brandon Beemer [ex-Shawn] because he’s kicking butt on The Bold and the Beautiful. Do you miss working with Jason Cook [ex-Shawn; Matt, GH] and Brandon?

PR: The character of Shawn is important in Bo’s life. As for the actors who played the part, I’m very proud of them both. Jason and Brandon learned the business working on Days, and because they worked opposite me most of the time, it’s nice to have been a part of their evolution. I’m happy they’re still working, but miss them for sure.
