Taylor Miller returns to All My Children this week as Nina Cortlandt to help honor the passing of James Mitchell and fans' beloved Palmer. Some familiar faces from days past are returning to Pine Valley for Palmer's (James Mitchell) funeral. According to SOAPnet, "Taylor Miller and Gillian Spencer will be reprising their All My Children roles of Nina and Daisy Cortlandt (respectively) in April to mark the on-screen passing of Palmer Cortlandt.

Deeply saddend and sorry to say goodbye to a dear soul, Mr. James Mitchell, who passed away yesterday. AMC has lost one of it's most precious children, indeed. The man was a true gentleman and wonderful talent. I feel honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to work beside him and to be his friend. Light up the heavens as you did the world you walked upon these many years, beautiful man!

Soap Opera Digest is reporting on Twitter that All My Children's James Mitchell (Palmer) died today of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease complicated by pneumonia. Mitchell was last seen on AMC during its recent 40th anniversary special.
