The gang at Good Morning America bid farewell to one of their own on Wednesday. Meteorologist Sam Champion, who had been with the program since 2006, marked his last day on the ABC morning show.
His colleagues gave an emotional send-off to the popular weatherman, as he heads off to run The Weather Channel. Champion’s teary-eyed GMA co-host Josh Elliott told his pal:
I just want to say thank you because it's been a gift each and every day to work with you, Sam. A lot of people talk about our bromance. For me it was just a friendship. I promise there's happy on the inside, but the tears... aw, I'm going to miss you. I love you, Sam.
All day long on Monday, Disney-ABC Television Group programs are participating in a "Day of Giving" to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy. During Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos revealed The View's Barbara Walters had been inspired to donate $250,000. Stephanopoulos then pledged $50,000.
Later, during the actual broadcast of The View, video spots featuring General Hospital's Finola Hughes (Anna) and Michael Easton (McBain) aired, urging viewers to donate to the Red Cross.
