Crystal Chappell Co-Hosts 25th Annual Emery Awards

Former Days of Our Lives and Guiding Light star Crystal Chappell co-hosted the 25th Annual Emery Awards with Good Morning America’s Sam Champion on November 10. The event, held at Cipriani Wall Street, honored Ralph Lauren’s Charles Fagan, Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker and Macy’s.  The yearly celebration is thrown by the Hetrick-Martin Institution, which helps provide empowerment, education and advocacy for LGBTQ young people age 12-24 and their families. Susan Lucci to Guest on The Gayle King Show Wednesday

Soap legend Susan Lucci makes an appearance on The Gayle King Show today. The All My Children vet will dish her new book, All My Life, with the Mighty O's BFF. Fans can catch the interview via Oprah Radio on Sirius 195 (XM Channel 156) starting at 9 AM EST. Folks who want to watch the interview can do so on the OWN network at 10 AM EST. Don't have Sirius? Oprah Winfrey's announcement that she will cancel her long running, uber-successful talk show in 2011 has the media buzzing. Here are a few stories to check out and ponder while you're reading DC at work.

The biggest question is, who's next? Can anyone top the queen? There really isn't a replacement out there that will impact the public quite like Oprah, but hey, there are those who are willing to try. The New York Post is reporting that Gayle King is in talks with CBS to produce a talk show of her own after Oprah goes off the air. There is no word from King's court, but her foray into talkdom failed in 1997 when her show was axed due to low ratings. READ MORE

"Precious" Stars at 47th Annual New York Film Festival


Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
has already won the Sundance Film Festival. Friday, its cast, including Mariah Carey, Sherri Shepherd, Gabourey SidibeXosha Roquemore, Paula Patton, Chyna Layne and Lenny Kravitz, attended its debut at the New York Film Festival. The premiere of Precious also brought out stars such as Jane Fonda, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Bobby Cannavale, Gayle King, Mary J. Blige, Harvey Keitel and Steve Buscemi.
