Sorry, General Hospital, One Life to Live and The Bold and the Beautiful. Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless were the only soaps to land Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series nominations for the 40th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
Current and former soap stars, from The Young and the Restless’ Melody Thomas Scott to Days of Our Lives grad Trevor Donovan, walked the red carpet at the 2013 GLAAD Media Awards on April 20 in Los Angeles. Crystal Chappell, The Talk’s Sara Gilbert, cast members from Days of Our Lives, ex-One Life to Live stars, The Bold and the Beautiful's Linsey Godfrey and Guiding Light grad Matt Bomer also celebrated the evening.
Marlena (Deidre Hall) told Brady (Eric Martsolf) he would regret the decision to marry Kristen (Eileen Davidson) for the rest of his life. You could see the hurt in Brady's face, as the stepmother who raised him admonished him.
John (Drake Hogestyn) showed up and the two tag teamed Brady over his impending nuptials. I've said it before, but it bears repeating. Brady Black is one dumb lug.
When Will (Chandler Massey) saw Sonny's (Freddie Smith) hand, he immediately demanded to know what happened. Sonny said he didn't want to talk about it. When Will pressed him, Sonny revealed Nick (Blake Berris) had called him a faggot.
Kate (Lauren Koslow) called Stefano to tell him to leave her alone. It was blatantly clear he was toying with her.
Adrienne (Judi Evans) showed Sonny a gift she'd bought for Will's daughter. Sonny had to explain that Will had signed his rights away. As they were talking, Kate walked in and overheard Adrienne question why Will would give up his rights. I hope to the Soap Gods Kate is able to do what Sami (Alison Sweeney), EJ (James Scott) and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) have yet to accomplish — get revenge on Nick.
Nick (Blake Berris) cut to the chase and told Will (Chandler Massey) to sign the papers. Sami (Alison Sweeney) stopped Will, telling him she had something she needed to say to Nick in private. After she was alone with Nick, Sami told him she’d sign away all contact with the child if Will was able to keep his child. Nick didn’t believe Sami would stick to her promise, even if she put it in writing.
Will asked EJ (James Scott) if there was any way he could serve his time without dragging anyone else into it. Unfortunately, EJ only had bad news for Will. Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) asked Will if he was willing to let a blackmailing murderer raise his child. Will signed away the rights to his child as his family watched. Later, EJ told Nick that he thought of Will as his son and Nick should be very careful when messing with his family. Nick replied by saying he wasn’t afraid of EJ.
