Will Jane Lynch Host the Primetime Emmys?

Emmy winner Jane Lynch is currently in talks with the TV Academy to host this year's Primetime Emmy Awards. The four major networks take turns each year to air the awards, and this year it's FOX, which doesn't have an easy go-to in a late night comedian or talk-show host. Lynch is therefore being courted not only as a major comedy talent, but also as a way to put FOX's hit Glee front and center on the big night.

Last year Glee received 20 nominations and won 4 Emmys, including one for Lynch as Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. If she ultimately hosts the show, Lynch would be only the third woman to do so (after Angela Lansbury in 1993 and Ellen DeGeneres in 2001). The Hollywood Reporter has the full story.
