All My Children star Eden Riegel is finally setting the record straight regarding her short return to the series back in 2009. Fans may recall, former AMC head writer Chuck Pratt attempted to blame Riegel's schedule for the storyline bombing in an interview with TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan. Four years later, Riegel explains to SheWired.com why she really left: 

You left AMC for a while. Did it have to do at all with the turn that Bianca's storyline had taken?

It was not the story that I was told we were going to tell. Obviously, marriage equality is still a big issue -- unfortunately. It was during the Prop 8 time and it was the first time I felt the tide was turning and we could actually get some marriage equality. It was a really exciting time and I was debating whether or not to come back to the show and then they pitched me this beautiful story about Bianca being in love and getting married, a real same sex couple on daytime. It kind of felt like the coming out story all over again, or the next generation of coming out story. As AJ (Eric Nelsen) was leaving JR’s (Ryan Bittle) room, he bumped into David (Vincent Irizarry). The disgraced doctor tried to reconnect with his grandson, but AJ didn’t cut him any slack.  David told AJ if he ever needs anything, all he has to do is call.

Cara (Lindsay Hartley) told David a story about miscarrying their baby. Everytime he questioned part of her story, she covered.

Miranda (Denyse Tontz) told Celia (Jordan Lane Price) she didn't know who her father was. He was just a random sperm donor. Huh? READ MORE

AJ (Eric Nelsen) discovered Miranda (Denyse Tontz) in his room trying on Colby’s “vintage” jeans. Apparently Colby was even skinnier than Miranda, because she had to ask AJ for help in squeezing into the hip huggers. For some reason I doubt Miranda was the only one having problems with their jeans.

Later, Miranda came out wearing a top without a bra. AJ told her to take the shirt off because she was all on display. When she balked, AJ proceeded to tell Miranda “the trailer park called and they want their trash back.” Okay, even I chuckled at that line. 

Apparently AJ’s room is busier than Pine Valley’s airport, because Bianca (Eden Riegel) showed up with a gift for her daughter.

Bianca (Eden Riegel) revealed she’d bought One Direction concert tickets for Gabby and Miranda (Denyse Tontz), the latter who took a bit of convincing to be excited about them. However, when she found out the concert was on the same day as a school dance, Miranda said she couldn’t go.

I have to admit, it’s a little weird seeing Bianca talking about being a teenage lesbian to her now teenage daughter. It’s amazing how time flies with the magic of SORASing.

AJ (Eric Nelsen) burst into the Chandler mansion and immediately started stripping down in the living room. My mom would have said, “Boy, you weren't born in a barn. Pick that up!”  Brooke's (Julia Barr) response to AJ shedding his clothes was to ask if he was planning on trying out for Chippendales. Now wouldn’t that make Adam (David Canary) proud? READ MORE

 

Okay, okay, I will be the first to admit it. I was more than a little cynical when I first learned Prospect Park was making a second stab at bringing back All My Children and One Life to Live. There, are you happy? 
 
With only a matter of days left before the soaps return on April 29, I  have to say, I am hella impressed with what I'm seeing so far! Today, TOLN revealed a trailer video for the new season of All My Children. Although I will argue anyone down that it was only my pollen allergies, a couple of tears were a' shed.

TOLN isn’t leaving anything to chance with its new promo telling All My Children fans to get ready for the soap's return on April 29. The network has released a promo that heavily features classic scenes of beloved characters, such as Bianca (Eden Riegel), Angie (Debbi Morgan), Jesse (Darnell Williams), Zach (Thorsten Kaye), Brooke (Julia Barr), Adam (David Canary), Dixie (Cady McClain), Joe (Ray MacDonnell), Tad (Michel E. Knight), Myrtle (Eileen Herlie) and the dastardly David Hayward (Vincent Irizarry).

I couldn’t help but choke up rewatching Bianca’s coming out to Erica (Susan Lucci). The first nine minutes are a wonderful reminder of All My Children’s past, while the last minute gives viewers a taste of what’s to come.
