Christina Bennett Lind
Some of ABC Daytime's best and brightest came out on Oct. 7 to perform in The World Goes Round, a Broadway muscial revue to support the LA Gay and Lesbian Center. Soaps.com caught up with several of the talented performers, including Brandon Barash (Johnny, General Hospital), who sang a song about Sara Lee baked goods, in addition to helping up the hunk factor during a bit performed by All My Children's Bobbie Eakes (Krystal).
After a month of working all day on the set and then rehearsing a few hours every night for "The World Goes Round," Barash, who hadn't done a musical in 13 years, admitted it was exhausting. "It's been a scramble, but it's all come together in the last week or two and we're excited with our product."
As for his alter ego, Johnny Zacchara, he had no idea what was to come for the mobster, but he's ready for anything. When asked what he'd like to see for Johnny, Brandon replied, "Something, 'cause he's been kind of stagnant lately. Something other than him griping about this sister because I think that ship has sailed."
Fancast’s Sara Bibel,
All things considered, Lind has done a terrific job. It helps that she has a physical resemblance to both Riegel and the other Kane women. Her voice also sounds similar. Since Bianca returned to Pine Valley to search for a missing Erica, Lind had to play tough, emotional scenes from day one. I was impressed that she seemed to have thought a lot about who the character is. She has given Bianca a toughness that she did not have before. It will take a little getting used to, but it makes sense for the character. She is a Kane woman, after all. Lind can definitely act. She adeptly managed to transition between Bianca’s fears for her mother’s safety and her anger and mistrust of Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) and David (Vincent Irizarry). Her newness to the genre is evident. She over enunciates a lot of her words and some of her facial expressions are mannered. Given her background in theater, this is understandable. I am sure that as she becomes more accustomed to daytime, those tics will disappear. READ MORE
What are your First Impressions of Christina Bennett Lind as All My Children's Bianca Montgomery?
In an interview with Zap2it, All My Children’s Christina Bennett Lind hints at what fans can expect when Bianca returns to Pine Valley. It looks like Erica (Susan Lucci) isn't the only Kane woman Greenlee (Rebecca Budig) will be taking on.
"[Erica] will always be my mom. I will always fight for her. I think it will actually be really interesting from what I know about the character and from what I know is coming," Lind teases. "You'll see Bianca's real strength and what she wants and fights for, especially with Greenlee because they're both strong women who have opinions and are trying to make their way in the world."
TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan is reporting All My Children's search for a new Bianca is over. AMC has snagged Christina Bennett Lind to play the role vacated by Daytime Emmy award-winner and fan favorite Eden Riegel. Executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers says,
Eden brought an integrity and honest innocence to the role that was very tough to match. We turned the earth upside going through the candidates. When Christina came in to read for the part she was Bianca. I think it’ll be a very easy transition for the audience.
READ MOREWe do want to continue playing the Reese-Bianca relationship because it was so unique, says Carruthers. I have talked to Tamara about coming back, but I don’t know schedules and availability and such. I don’t want to recast Reese, so it’s up in the air at the moment
