Captain America Tops Harry Potter at Box Office!
By Akash Nikolas on July 24, 2011

Looks like more moviegoers preferred Captain America's shield to Harry Potter's wand as Captain America: The First Avenger topped the box office with $65.8 million, sending Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 to number two in only its second week. Don't feel too bad for the boy wizard, though. HP7.2 still made $48 million this week for an overall staggering domestic total of $274.1 million. The Huffington Post breaks down the numbers.
For my money, Captain America -- while certainly flawed, especially in the second half -- is the best of the glut of superhero films we've been fed this summer, and significantly superior to the overrated Harry Potter (yeah, I said it). How could it not be with better acting, more artful shots, actual characterization, and Chris Evans' chest?

Also making the cut is Glee star and recent Golden-Globe winner Chris Colfer who comes in at number 4. American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert is once again runner-up, coming in at number 2. Captain America Changes Title Overseas; Hugh Jackman Calls The Wolverine "Best of The Bunch"
By Luke Kerr on February 02, 2011

According to the Los Angeles Times, the highly anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger, starring Chris Evans, will premiere in Russia, South Korea and the Ukraine as simply The First Avenger and not Captain America: The First Avenger. Reportedly, "those involved in the decision are being careful to frame the move as a matter of brand management and consumer awareness and not as a decision tilted by cultural or political winds."
In other Marvel news, Hugh Jackman is buffing up to reprise the role of Wolverine in The Wolverine, a standalone film expected to hit theatres in 2012. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Jackman reveals he’s wolfing down 6,000 calories a day because director Darren Aronofsky envisions Wolverine looking more like Mike Tyson and less like Clint Eastwood. If that isn’t doesn’t make you pause, maybe this will.
