Brooklyn Rae Silzer
INTERVIEW: Kimberly McCullough Talks #GH50, ABC Directing Program and Her Desire to Return as Dr. Robin Scorpio-DrakeBy Regan Cellura on April 20, 2013
As a huge part of General Hospital history, Kimberly McCullough (Dr. Robin Scorpio-Drake) was on hand to celebrate the show’s past and help look into its future at the recent Paley Center event. I was lucky enough to steal time with the very fun McCullough, who told me about the ABC Directing program, a GH alum she recently spent time with and of course I asked her about her adorable on-screen daughter Brooklyn Rae Silzer (Emma).
The General Hospital fan in McCullough is up-to-date on all the happenings in Port Charles , while the director in her had a tip for the Nurse’s Ball. McCulloiugh also dished about the possibility of a Robin return.
Daytime Confidential: Just a little bit on your directing. I know you’re out there doing that, how’s it going?
Kimberly McCullough: It’s going really well. I just did my first episode of Shake it Up called "Halloween it Up".
DC: My nieces are going to be ecstatic when I tell them!
KM: Oh I was ecstatic! It was so fun and Zendaya is doing so great on Dancing with the Stars right now. So I did that and right now I’m an ABC Director Fellow, so I'm in the program and shadowing different shows.I'm actually going to shadow on Homeland in two weeks which I'm very excited about. Student nurse Sabrina Santiago barrelled into Port Charles General Hospital, a mess of hair, thick-rimmed glasses and nervous energy. However, at the recent Nurses Ball, this quirky duckling transformed into quite the magnificent swan, securing Dr. Patrick Drake's (Jason Thompson) heart in the process!
Being gorgeous both inside and out is a trait the new R.N. shares with her portrayer Teresa Castillo. I had the pleasure of chatting up the break-out star at the Paley Center's recent celebration of General Hospital's 50th Anniversary. Castillo shares how much she is enjoying her time in Port Chuck, the friendships she's developed, and dished on what she and best pal Felix (Marc Samuel) will be up to in their battle against Dr. Britch (Kelly Thiebaud).
Daytime Confidential: This all has to be pretty exciting for you?
Teresa Castillo: I feel like I’m dreaming right now.
DC: General Hospital’s 50th Anniversary, all of this and this is your first role on a soap opera, right?
TC: It is, it is! I had seen soaps before, but I had no idea what I was getting into with the shooting schedule. It’s challenging, a little bit, to get the hang of it, the flow of it all, but I feel like I finally settled in.
DC: Well you’re not just settled in, you’re in a great love triangle! Pretty great for your first soap role?
TC: I’m having a blast; I really am.
DC: It’s wonderful when you love what you’re doing. It shows on screen with you.
TC: Thank you, you couldn’t ask for anything more, right? To be able to do what you love for a living and have other people enjoy it as well. It’s just so fulfilling and I’m so thankful. READ MORE

Are you ready for what’s about to hit the stage? Patrick and Emma are said to do a daddy/daughter duet. Monica, Epiphany and Tracy are quite the trio. The nurses all team up. Duke and Anna show us that famous tango. Ellie and Spinelli put on a show. Noah Drake hits the stage in honor of his daughter-in-law, while Emma and Sabrina also share a number together. That Emma Drake (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) is quite the star.
Everyone remembers Nikolas and Robin’s friendship, right? The Nurses Ball is in honor of Robin. When they lost funding, an anonymous donor stepped up. Three royal guesses who it is.
