All day long on Monday, Disney-ABC Television Group programs are participating in a "Day of Giving" to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy. During Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos revealed The View's Barbara Walters had been inspired to donate $250,000. Stephanopoulos then pledged $50,000.
Later, during the actual broadcast of The View, video spots featuring General Hospital's Finola Hughes (Anna) and Michael Easton (McBain) aired, urging viewers to donate to the Red Cross. Barbara Walters used her platform on ABC Daytime's The View to call Donald Trump out on his ridiculous "birther" witchhunt against President Barack Obama. Trump recently offered to donate $5 million to the charity of Obama's choosing, if the Commander in Chief would release his college transcripts and Passport application documents to the reality show host. Was it something they said? Barbara Walters announced today Republican Presidential nominee and former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney's Thursday appearance on The View was cancelled. The veteran television journalist said Romney's wife Ann would appear as scheduled. Walters stated:
Gov. Romney was supposed to be on with us this Thursday with Ann Romney. We were looking forward to it. Over the weekend, his people said that he had scheduling problems and would not be coming on with us. Nor at this point did he feel that he could reschedule. We are happy to have Mrs. Romney on with us. We are sorry that we won't have Governor Romney and that's the situation...He can change his mind and we hope he does. It would be our pleasure to have him on the program.
Last month, Romney's campaign spokesperson announced he would appear on the talk show after a secret video recording surfaced of his remarks he made during a fundraising event about the show. Romney stated:
If Lindsay Lohan was a tree, what type of tree would she be? We may very well soon find out. According to TMZ, The View’s Barbara Walters has landed a one-on-one interview with the troubled tabloid favorite. Reportedly, Lohan has been reluctant to do sit down interviews. I can’t imagine why.

When Clueless and Single Ladies alum Stacey Dash tweeted support for Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, Twitter and the rest of the Internet erupted in bitter debate. Some fans of the star were outraged that a black actress is supporting a Republican, as opposed to President Barack Obama, a Democrat.
