Journalistic trailblazer and The View creator Barbara Walters will be sitting down with Howard Kurtz to reflect on her legacy for his show Media Buzz on Fox News, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In addition to Walters' many achievements, the two discuss the criticism of Jenny McCarthy, who replaced Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View.
"You know what? I have always been a big booster of other women," Walters tells Kurtz of what she hopes will be her legacy. "I've always worked with other women, and if I have any legacy, that's it. And I'm very proud of that."
The interview will air on Sunday, November 3.
Babs and Co. are headed to the land where dreams come true. The View will broadcast live from Disneyland in Anaheim, California the week of Nov. 18-22.
Jimmy Kimmel will guest the week in question, along with Demi Lovato, Tim Allen, Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet and Kobe Bryant. The festivities coincide with Mickey Mouse's 85th birthday.

ABC Daytime's The View recently tackled the first big political scandal du jour since allegedly polarizing former co-hosts Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joy Behar were put out to pasture. Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd, Jenny McCarthy and guest host Jason Biggs discussed the ramifications of the government shutdown.
I have to say, I miss Hasselbeck and Behar's respective hawk and dove takes on things. The chat was much too tame and one-sided. Who wants to watch everyone agree on The View? At least bring back Rosie and her split screen. Watch a clip after the jump!
If this bit of news turns out to be true, it's quite an indictment on the state of Katie Couric's daytime talk show. According to New York Daily News, Katie's low ratings make it vulnerable to cancellation, but if the show gets axed " viewers could soon see the peppy TV queen replacing Barbara Walters on The View."
One tipster says network honchos believe the timing is perfect for a switcheroo — as soon as Walters decides to go, Couric could seamlessly step in, with the network making it look like Babs had appointed her own successor.
So let me get this straight. Couric flopped as anchor of CBS Evening News, her expensive daytime talk show could soon be cancelled—while The Talk is nipping at The View's stilettos in the ratings—and Disney-ABC thinks Couric would be a good fit for The View? It doesn't make sense, but I'm sure it will cost more than a few dollars. READ MORE
ABC Daytime's The View is rolling out the red carpet for new co-host Jenny McCarthy. The aging chatfest recently unveiled new promo pics with the comedienne, who is joining Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd this fall.
It's the end of a snarky era. After 16 years, Joy Behar is saying goodbye to ABC Daytime's The View. The televised coffee klatch is hosting a special tribute to the saucy, Italian-American liberal next Friday, Aug. 9. Watch a promo for the special after the jump! READ MORE
