Washington Post Compares Victoria Newman to Rupert Murdoch?!
By Jamey Giddens on July 22, 2011

Okay, this is awesomeness. A blogger for the Washington Post referenced a storyline from CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless in a piece about the News Corp. phone hacking scandal! When discussing allegations that British tabloids like Rupert Murdoch's now defunct and disgraced News of The World made practice of bribing elected officials, Genoa City's own Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) was cited.
A partial nod must go to the soap opera The Young and the Restless, whose character Victoria Newman was arrested on her wedding day for allegedly bribing a foreign dignitary. Television and Murdoch and ’round-the-clock FCPA conjecture — it’s a welcome publicity storm for the FCPA bar. READ MORE

Y&R's Amelia Heinle on Hubby Thad Luckinbill's Exit: "It's a Blessing in Disguise"
By Jamey Giddens on September 24, 2010
In the latest issue of CBS Soaps in Depth, on newstands today, The Young and the Restless actress Amelia Heinle (Victoria) reveals it was her real-life hubby Thad Luckinbill's (JT) decision to quit the sudser, stating Luckinbill decided not to renew his contract. Here's what else the vastly improved of late actress had to say:
It's a blessing in disguise," Heinle declares. "He's never been in this position before. [He] is going to grow as a person and as an actor. I hope he gets a cop show! He's done guest roles on primetime because he was working on Y&R. Now that he has nothing holding him back, you just wait — he's going to [succeed even more]. I know it. He's going to be so happy that this has happened."
Hmm, he decided to quit, but it's a blessing in disguise?? (Scratches head). Okie dokey! For more from Heinle, check out this week's CBS Soaps in Depth.
Swoontastic: My Favorite Y&R Couple Makes the Cover of CBS Soaps In Depth!
By Jamey Giddens on September 10, 2010
While my crabby pants cohorts have yet to be seduced by the majesty that is Villy, I won't let them diminish the immense pleasure I feel seeing my current, fave CBS soap couple on the cover of this week's CBS Soaps In Depth. Billy and Victoria (Billy Miller and Amelia Heinle) are so scrumptious together, I want to sop them up with a low carb biscuit!
It's so nice to have some reason to say something kind about The Young and the Restless for a change. Check out the teaser blurb below previewing Villy's wedding, where that stinky, old Victor (Eric Braeden) tries to eff up the best love story Genoa City has going! READ MORE
Here We Go Again! Y&R Snags Father Knows Best's Elinor Donahue
By Jillian Bowe on July 28, 2010
TV Guide's Michael Logan is reporting the stunt-casting bonanza over at The Young and the Restless continues. Y&R has hired Father Knows Best star Elinor Donahue to act as a judge who officiates Billy (Billy Miller) and Victoria's (Amelia Heinle) wedding slated for Sept 8 (my birthday of all days). Head writer Scott Hamner stated,
Relationship and romance is partly about trying to achieve a retro-fantasy of better, simpler times — bringing Elinor on amps up that homage to the perfect family," says Y&R co-head writer Scott Hamner. "We have great admiration for Elinor. She's an iconic part of our collective psyche and it seemed like we couldn't do it without her. We love her!"
The sound you hear is my head exploding all over the DC offices.
Three Things to be Young and Restless About Right Now!
By Nekeeta Borden on July 21, 2010
We soap lovers can be as scathing as the most hardcore sports fan when it seems our favorite daytime players are asleep on the bench or the writing team is making bad plays. Though I find myself cursing at my TV for some of the recent shenanigans on The Young and the Restless, it’s a reason why I still tune in, and the good must be acknowledged. Giving props where they are due, I want to speak on three things that I’m loving right now about Y&R.
