Alicia Minshew on The Possible End of AMC's Zendall: "Before There Was Zach, Kendall Was Fine on Her Own"

Alicia Minshew addressed fans concerns over long time leading man Thorsten Kaye's status at All My Children in the latest issue of CBS Soaps in Depth.

"Zach and Kendall have been Zach and Kendall for five years so [fans are] used to that, but I sort of have to remind them that before there was Zach, Kendall was fine on her own."

The Vivian Leigh doppelganger went on to gently remind fans of Kendall's past romances with Ryan (Cameron Mathison) and tryst with JR (Jacob Young) in an effort to assure them that their girl would be okay if Kaye opts not to continue appearing on the West Coast-based sudser.  Personally, I am just ITCHIN' for AMC to bring back Kendall's gothic, Hungarian first love Anton Marick. Just think of say, Antonio Sabato Jr. or Tom Pelphrey opposite Minshew as Anton, who returns to Pine Valley to reclaim Wildwind and Kendall's wild heart!

All My Children's Alicia Minshew Discusses About Hesitation Moving West

Parentdish.com talked with All My Children's Alicia Minshew about her new role as mother to daughter Willow and her initial reaction to the show's move to Los Angeles.
PD: Were you surprised that "AMC" moved West?

AM: Yes -- shocked as a matter of fact. I said, "Well I can't do that. I am a first-time mom and there is no way I can pack up and leave with a newborn." Plus, my roots and family were in New York.

Minshew also reveals her plans to make Hollyweird her permanent address.

PD: What was the deciding factor?

AM: There were a few. First off, we have so many friends out here in Los Angeles and the AMC cast is my extended family. We also knew Richie was able to hire some great managers while he was away. Third, we know this was temporary. We are renting a place and know ultimately we will be back in New York because we want to raise our daughter in New York City.

First Impressions: Alicia Minshew's Return to AMC as Kendall

What are your First Impressions of Alicia Minshew’s return as Kendall to All My Children?

After seeing today’s episode plus watching the "Kendall’s Back" promo I am now convinced that there is something about Greenlee/Ryan/Kendall that inspires unoriginality in writers at AMC. At one time their dynamic might have worked, but now it has become so tiresome it makes Passions’ Therese/Ethan/Gwen triangle look like Shakespeare.

This Week in Daytime

This week in daytime,

I wondered if All My Children's Zach (Thorsten Kaye) and Kendall (Alicia Minshew) fans were steaming mad about their couple's onscreen reunion, of sorts. Not being a Zendall fan myself I expect it had to be more than a little bittersweet to see a favorite couple return, only to dissolve before our eyes like a hairball in a drain pipe attacked by Draino. My sympathies are with you Zendall fans.
