Adrienne Frantz recently spoke with Michael Fairman about all things Young and the Restless. In this rather lengthy interview, Adrienne touches base on everything from Amber's relationship with Daniel and Katherine to her involvement in many different storylines. Here is an excerpt of that question but be sure to check out the entire interview.
MICHAEL: You seem to always be on the show and mixed-in various scenes. Why do you think that is?
ADRIENNE: I don’t know. I think that Amber brings a lot to the scene, whatever that might be, whether it be comic relief, or whatever that it is, and spices it up a little bit. She is kind of like the extra salt you put in when you are cooking.
It's Dr. Drew Pinsky to the rescue for on-the-rocks couple Daniel and Amber next week on The Young and the Restless. According to TV Guide's Michael Logan, Genoa City's most promising pairing will call in to talk to the Loveline host on July 23.
Two days prior to Pinsky's appearance on the CBS soap, Adrienne Frantz (Amber) and Michael Graziadei (Daniel) are set to appear on the real life radio program as themselves. Let's hope Dr. Drew can help Y&R's sexiest twosome mend fences...or at least explain to them the importance of using dental dams during oral sex like he has done for generations of youngsters.
TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco has published his Most Improved Actors of 2008, naming the actors who he believes have improved dramatically in the first half of 2008.
In addition to the Most Improved Actors of 2008 Branco also named his picks in his "Booster Club" categories including: Most Improved Soap, Most Improved Writers, Most Improved Love Story, Most Improved Network, Most Improved Magazine, Most Improved Direction, Most Improved Casting, Most Improved Producer, Most Improved Hair, Set Design, Lighting and Costume and Most Improved Opening.
So here is my question. If you were going to name your "Top 10 Most Improved Actors" so far in 2008 who would you name? I know several of Branco's picks would make my list.
With so many pop and R&B stars visiting the soaps these days, I couldn't help but think about one of my favorite visitations to soapdom by a crooner.
In 1998 Usher, then an up-and-coming teen pop star, appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful as Raymond-a play on the singer/actor's real life surname-a friend-with-benefits from Amber Moore's past who turned up in LA in time to a.) perform a duet at Insomnia of Usher and Monica's hit song "Slow Jam" with Amber (Adrienne Frantz) singing Monica's part and b.) have a one night stand with the scrappy blonde that left Amber wondering if the child she was carrying belonged to Raymond or her teen lover Rick Forrester.
The still born baby turned out to be Rick's and when the character of Raymond was brought back for the story's climax, the role had to be recast because of Usher's busy schedule, but nevertheless the plot twist worked better than a lot of recent guest stints from musicians because it was organic and drove story.
Since appearing on B&B Usher has gone on to be one of the biggest musical stars of his generation (his new CD Here I Stand drops tomorrow) and Frantz's Amber, one of daytime's best on-the-make schemers ever- is now corrupting another horny young dude from a rich family on The Young and the Restless, but their fans will always have "Slow Jam".
