Here’s the Scoop!
The abuse storyline will continue parallel to Sonny’s trial. There are a few notes left to play on what has so far been a pretty well written and phenomenally acted story. Maurice Benard, Nancy Lee Grahn and Lexi Ainsworth have all turned in top notch performances this week! I know there are some of you that are having a real problem with Kristina labeling Ethan as her attacker and while I see your point, it’s honestly not all that far off base from what happens in a real life abuse situation. Often, the victim protects their abuser even if it means lashing out at family, friends and yes even making someone else look like they're to blame. Granted, I still see why fans are upset that Ethan is taking the heat but Kristina sort of has a point, doesn’t she? Sonny is sure to bump off whoever is to blame and Ethan, being Luke’s son, stands a better chance than Kiefer. I’m not making excuses, trust me; I’m just saying that I get it.
Luke vs. Sonny… How much, will see? Initially we thought it wouldn’t be too much since Sonny has his trial to worry about but this part of the storyline may be too good to pass up. Luke and Sonny will have their “face off” over who’s telling the truth and which of their kids is the liar. Sonny does not take it kindly when Luke suggests that Kristina is lying about who really attacked her.
Speaking of Luke… he returns to Port Chuck in time to counsel Ethan about the situation with Kristina. Luke advises Ethan to stay put and prove he wasn’t the one who raised a fist to Kristina. Does Lulu believe Ethan’s story or does she think he’s capable of violence against a woman just like their father? Will Lulu tell Ethan about Luke raping her mother?
I already mentioned that Ethan violates the restraining order… He goes back to the scene of the crime to try and get Kristina to tell the truth. Sam arrives on scene and calls the police to have Ethan arrested. Ethan won’t be Krissy’s only visitor. Luke and Carly both drop by. Carly has some questions and Luke wants her to tell the truth.
Carly, Carly, Carly… She tells Jason she thinks Kristina is telling stories. Is Carly the one who figures out it was Kiefer who beat the crap out of K? Carly takes a trip to the island to see Michael and tells him that Kristina was assaulted. Is this when Michael says he knows who did it?
Jason and Lucky… Seriously Jason, just become a cop. You pretty much are one without the badge. Jason shares his doubts with Lucky who goes to question Kristina again. And again I ask, isn’t this all a big conflict of interest for Detective Spencer? His brother is the one accused.
Not pressing charges… Yep, Kristina is not going to press charges against Ethan! As a minor though, can’t Alexis press charges? Well here’s how it looks like they’ll get around that one. Alexis and Sam are SPOILED to talk about how grueling a trial will be on Kristina who has already said she doesn’t want to press charges and go through all that. Does Alexis concede to her daughter’s wishes? It looks like that is happening as Sonny is enraged when he finds out that Ethan will walk free. Sonny needs to pay attention to his surroundings though as he threatens Ethan’s life right in front of Prosecutor Claire. Who else will not be happy about K’s choice to not press charges? Kiefer. Let’s see how mad the beater boyfriend gets over this one.
Just Do It Already… OMG, can these two just have sex already? Apparently Lulu and Dante are interrupted yet again when he is called to court to testify at Sonny’s trial. Seriously? Enough already! Will Claire get Dante to name Michael as a witness on the stand?
Brook Lynn Ashton Returns! We’ve been hearing about the Quartermaine re-build. Guza has even said that he doesn’t feel right when he’s not writing for the Q’s yet he’s the one that killed most of them off. We have the new Ward girls coming soon, Skye returning and now Brook coming back for May Sweeps in a recurring role. I said the Q resurgence needed some familiar faces attached to it but I was thinking more along the lines of Scott Clifton or perhaps Wally Kurth. Will this do? Brook Lynn sure will!
Paternity… That second paternity test Nikolas had done, will he sit on the truth? RUMOR has it he will. Tsk, tsk Nikolas. You didn't like it very much when someone lied about your child to you.
RANDOM and CRAZY… Georgie visits Maxie and TPTB realize they screwed up BIG TIME by killing her off. Oh sorry, that’s in my dream sequence. Will Johnny be a good witness for the prosecution? Who’s Conan? Sonny has an outburst in the courtroom. Will Kristina be a witness to it? Just how close is Claire to the truth? How long before Dante knows? Is Kiefer not long for Port Charles? There’s a RUMOR out there that he does go down but it’s not a mobster who takes him out.

That is one of the RUMORS out there. There are other POSSIBLE people who could be taking Kiefer out.

Hey Regan, thanks for the spoilers. I am so with you on Lante - just let them DO IT already, or as Dante likes to say, let them get together, lol. I feel like at this rate it'll be May sweeps before it happens and my heart can't take any more interruptions!
As for Kristina - the story has been really well acted (the actor that plays Kiefer has been terrific too) but I'd be a lot more forgiving of Krissy naming the wrong guy if she hadn't also let her brother hang in the wind on the Claudia mo-down. They have made her a girl who doesn't take responsibility well.

In reference to your first paragraph about the abuse storyline, I totally get it to as far as Kristina putting the blame on Ethan. I don't like it, but you're right in that abuse victims tend to protect their abusers. Kristina is downright scared of Kiefer right now. She's afraid of what he'll do if she tells the truth.

Yep! That plays into it as well. I know there is this outrage over her lies and I'm not saying I don't understand it, I'm just saying the writers are pretty much on point. I rarely praise them, you all know that, however in this storyline, they are doing a darn good job.

I'm trying to keep the whole running down Claudia thing separate from her being abused. I get she failed to take responsibility for that BUT for me, this is something that is happening to her, not something she caused.

I agree that the abuse storyline is being well-acted all around, I still don't excuse Kristina for blaming Ethan, she wants to protect Keifer, fine that's her choice, but you still don't put an innocent man's name in it. And you are right Regan, since Kristina is a minor, Alexis can press charges, but it doesn't look like it is going to happen. I just hope the truth comes out before it's too late.
I also agree on Lante, just let them do it already, I can't take the interruptions anymore either.
I am glad AL is coming back as Brook Lynn, but I also agree bring back Scott Clifton as Dillon, (if there's room), Wally Kurth has a big storyline going on Days right now, but I would love for him to come back as Ned, bring back Stuart Damon as Alan, he just started on Days, too and bring back Justus as well.
I can't believe Nic is going to hide the truth from Lucky, oh wait yes I can.
As for Keifer we will see what happens I have read and heard a lot of scenarios as well.

Yeah, this story is all shades of crazy!!! I wanna have sympathy for Kristina, but she keeps making all the wrong moves, so it makes it kinda hard!!!! Also, nobody else seems to want to look for the truth, and they just wanna tar and feather an innocent man. This story is so complex, and easily the most powerful story on daytime television right now!! Gotta hand it to Guza, he has done a good job with this one!!!

it would be different if when she and keifer were talking about why she covered for him, she had actually said she pointed the finger at ethan because of luke's friendship with her dad and she know sonny wouldn't luke's kid. but the writers skipped that line or maybe its on the editing room floor.

Kristina will never go to jail for lying. When the truth comes out, Ethan and Luke and everyone in town will have so much sympathy for her, for the fact that she was beaten AT ALL, and they will easily forgive her for her actions. Don't forget, this show rarely makes people pay for their crimes.

Regan I agree with you regarding the abuse storyline. I loe it, its powerful and extremely well acted. (CA deserves a shout out as well, he probably has the most difficult role and he is doing a bang up job giving some depth to Kiefer)
As for the whole Ethan situation, sure it sucks but at the same time it's gripping drama and it still can't hate Kristina for it. no way no how.
Michae needs to find out about Kristina like yesterday. I don't want Kiefer killed, the only scenario I could accept would be Kristina killing him in self defense or Kiefer commitimg suicide. I think having someoe else kill him as punishment would send the wrong message to girls watching who might find themselves in a similar situation.

I love this story line I think this is one of the best stories GH has done in the past years..
Yes maybe it has troubles But I don't think it is that big.
Woman tend to protect their abuser , and this is what Kris is doing, I hate that she blames Ethan But for me it sounds real..
What so amazing is that the scenes are so real and the performance is out of this world..
Lexi Nancy Maurice Kelly Steve Chris and even NP are just amazing every scene of this story is just amazing..
I can't wait for the next episode to see what will be next ....
I am for one don't want Kiefer to die , I want him to go to prison or something else, Not to die.....

I used to volunteer at a shelter for battered women and trust me the desire to protect the attacker is stronger than you would imagine. There hadn't been much to praise GH writers for in the recent past but they have done excellent work with this storyline, especially if you look back and see how they have built the story.
I agree the incessant interruptions of Dante and Lulu are getting old...just do it already.

I don't want to agree because there would be something satisfying about seeing an abuser "get his," but Kiefer is still very young and CA has done such a great job in what must be a very difficult role that I would like to see him stick around and maybe even go to therapy (of course that could just be my desire to see Lainey on the canvas more rearing its head).

You all saw what the show did to Claudia, and she didn't even technically pull the trigger that paralyzed Michael!! I shudder to think what the show will do to Keifer considering that the actually DID directly hurt Kristina---and it wasn't an "accident". An accident is a one time occurence, like spilling Pepsi on the carpet. Knocking around women is ABUSE. Whether he's young or not, this boy is gonna catch all sorts of hell for this!!! It almost makes me cringe to think about it!!

I know Kiefer is a jerk , And Sonny and jason would want him dead ,But this is a Story that should not end in the mob laws ,This can happen to anyone and this should end like it can end in the normal life , Sent Kiefer to therapy Sent him to Jail , show how this can be resolve not in the imaginary world of the mob but in real world....
I am mob fan but this story is so important to me that I don't want to see Jason Sonny Dante or Ethan killing the guy , Maybe they can kick his @Ss But not killing him..

Though I was never a huge Brooklynn fan (she was just okay to me), I love Adrianne and am excited to see her back. We need to beef up the Q's, since the only one who EVER gets screentime now is Tracey. It's a damn shame.
So, the baby is actually Lucky's? I hope the writers find a way to redeem this awful story.
GH is on fire right now but there are a few things that need to be fixed. lets start with Nikolas boring me to death in scenes, and Lisa. ugh

I understand Kristina wanting to protect Kiefer and I definitely expected her too but I think most complaints deal with the fact that Kristina pointed the finger at Ethan. IMO that's what makes her unsympathetic. She should have just stated that she didn't know who did it, that the attacker wore a mask or something. Ethan being Luke's son doesn't mean much. Calling Ethan's name with complete conciousness makes her come off as bitter and spiteful because he rejected her.

All of you hoping (or praying) for a speedy resolution/ending to this storyline clearly have not been watching GH for a long time, and don't know how Robert Guza operates!! He likes to drag out stories for a LOOOOOOONNNNNGGG time!! How long did it take for Claudia to get punished??? Or for Sonny to find out that Dante is his son??? If you ask any good head writer or writer in general what their objective is as a writer, they will more than likely say that you have to figure out what the audience wants, and then try to keep them from getting it as long as humanly possible. Agnes Nixon and William Bell Sr., as well as any great daytime writer in soap history, have instituted this same mantra. Think about the best and greatest soap stories in history and how LOOONNNGGGG they took to play out onscreen!! I would say this will take at LEAST four months to play out!! I just hope it doesn't take YEARS, like back in the day!!!
Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but if you aren't prepared for this story to COMPLETELY monopolize the show, and everyone on it, then you might wanna find something else to watch. It's gonna basically turn into the "Sonny/Ethan/Kristina hour" pretty soon!!! I will definitely be watching, although it still feels like watching a TRAIN WRECK, but being unable to look away!!!!

ARGGGHHHHH!!!!
I love ya Regan, but I must disagree about something. While I agree the storyline is important IT IS NOT a normal thing for an abuse victim to knowingly name someone they know as their abuser. Most abuse victims blame themselves and as such will come up with some stranger, or nameless, faceless person. Yes they will protect the actual person but most don't want anyone to get into trouble because they think its their fault.
Making Kristina the unsympathetic victim of a horrible act in my opinion reduces this story.
