I wish that Gloria could be on more.
hey mon there's our campy character and now she's involved in the story with Chelsea & Chloe
I've always loved Gloria. I actually preferred Joan VA when she originated the role. By killing John off, stupid ass LML really missed opportunities. If Gloria was still in the Abbott house with Judith's campiness it'd be a hoot. I hope we continue to see more and more of her. I guess Jeffrey and Kay's hubby will continue to be mentioned but not on screen.
I actually thought The Show was great when Gloria was on 3-4 times a week. She really had Jack 'going' from 2005 to 2008, and was a pretty formidable opponent. Too bad she's been relegated to afterthought on the canvas. She's pretty hot for a woman in her late 60s, too.
I going to like Gloria involved w\Chloe & Chelsea...she fits right in and loved her line when Jack walked into the office for the meeting.
Yes, the touches like that when Josh correctly refers to the history of the show has me cheering.
Did anyone see the "Chronicle" in color the other day? That's a very small thing that I thought continues to show the team IS trying to update the show a bit.
I was afraid there would be too much change too quickly, but now six months in I am having faith...
Liking, and dis-liking The Show. But watching.
I wonder why I liked MAB so much?
hey mon my friend you just can't get happy with this new team. There's a real energy with actors and the stories right now that wasn't with MAB...but hey to each their own
Harlee. I know. I miss over-the-top MAB. The strange excitement of her s/l's were so good to me, it was almost like classic 90s DAYS, my fave time in watching a Daytime show. Adam at the Policeman's Ball -- Classic! Patty at Jack and Gen's wedding - Priceless! Oh well, I'll be allright.
I did too. JVA's take on Gloria was a lot more realistic to me. She had the vulnerability and fragility of an abused woman and seemed much more working class. (However, I often got the impression that JVA was struggling to remember her lines.)
Lord knows I love Judith but her Gloria got used to being rich really quickly and her campiness took me a long time to get used to.
Gotta love Cougar Gloria.
Would love a rivalary between Lauren and Gloria over stud muffin Carmine.
love his chest....
Didnt like Joan's Gloria. Didnt like the overly botoxed lips, although it is great for my forehead. Judith has always done great job as Gloria, and deserves to be on 3 times a week.
I will have agree w\hey mon...I wasn't a fan of JVA's Gloria, it was off somehow and even JC's Gloria is more campier because she's great at humor which Joan lacked. JC's Gloria can still deliver the goods when it's called for and she gave Gloria personality.
Judith Chapman is and has always been the best! Check her out here:

Now Joan Van Ark could not have given those performances.
david, Thanks for the classic clips. I almost forgot about that sexy style in how Ashley wore her hair just 8 years ago. Really beautiful for a most beautiful lady. Gloria was great, too, and looks great then and now. Really hot.
There is no way that Joan Van Ark cold have delivered those scenes. Valene Ewing just doesn't have it it within her to conjure up emotion like that.
David, David, David ....Thank you for the clips. I enjoyed the first clip the most and look how younger looking Greg looked. Simply wonderful!
I don't mean to give the impression that I dislike Judith in the role of Gloria. I like her a hell of a lot. I just thought JVA's was a more realistic portrayal at the beginning of her very brief stint. After a couple of episodes, I wanted her gone.
David: thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I also got to re enjoy Beth Maitland as Tracy, my all time favorite Y&R character.
The tears flowed again... I am man enough to admit it!!
@everyone: My favorite line was this one from Gloria:
"I admit it... You damn right I admit it! It is wonderful to finally be in a place where I don't have to worry about money or bills!"
"I admit it... You damn right I admit it! It is wonderful to finally be in a place where I don't have to worry about money or bills!"
Yes from that first clip with Ashley and the pain and tears on Gloria's face...Judith sold it!
Loved that clip.
