Hey the Hollywood Reporter has reported that daytime's most unwatchable soap has another year to get its act in order.
This is good for Days fan and maybe someone will listen. If it's true Sony gave NBC more authority and Ken is missing on a golf course someone needs to take DOOL serious at NBC.
Days has been on for all my TV-watching life. For a long time during my early teens, the television in my family's home was only on for three hours during the day, and that was when Days, Another World, and Santa Barbara were on.
I don't want it to end anytime soon; but for the life of me, I cannot figure out why it's so hard for them to get their act together.
They need to
1. promote Lorraine Broderick to Head Writer
2. stop pushing Daniel Jonas to be the next Bo Brady, Mike Horton, and
Jack Devereaux all in one
3. bring back Frankie Brady for Jennifer
4. feature racial diversity in a more meaningful way and that includes
filling the void left by Lexie Carver
5. end the dumb triangles for Sami Brady
6. show women on the job and have dramatic conflict arise from that
7. get NBC to hype the show more
You betta testify........
If the show is doing so well, how come vets are still being let go? Just read that Drake Hogestyn and Bryan Datilo have been dropped to recurring. Are Deirdre Hall and Kristian Alfonso next?
Even when shows are doing well, there are characters that certain writing teams just don't know what to do with.
Dropping Drake Hogestyn to recurring or altogether is far from being a bad thing IMO.
^^ Gonna have to agree. Drake Hogestyn's "acting" has been awful this last go around. It's like it just gets worse by the year. His acting now comes off like a desperate old geezer who thinks he's still 30 and the main super hero like he used to be. Sorry, time does go by, and at some point people just have to accept they're not as young as they used to be. The reality is that he looked ridiculously old next to Eileen Davidson. I just couldn't for a minute believe that these two could portray a believable pairing.
@Yoryla: We're teaming up again! It's Sami, Kate and Nicole to the rescue.
Yes I don't care if Drake is gone. He was just mucking up the screen with that over-the-top head curdling non-acting. Goodbye!
Recurring doesn't mean the end of the world. John Aniston has been on recurring status since 1998. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Marlena with a new man in her life.
@SonnySprocket: Recurring means the end of the world for Drake! That means they don't need him for the numbers. And it is about time. I can deal with seeing Drake as much as we see Josh Talyor as Roman. Because they are in the same acting class.
David and Yoryla, Drake wants you to know that back in the day he was nominated for Soap Opera Digest Awards eight times and won three.
Thanks! Good for him! Tell him we said "hi"!
@SoapArmageddon & Yorla: LoL! Too bad they did not have soap opera Razzi's! He would be a lifetime achievement award winner!
