TraceyAbbott...baby you'r sure is right on the sauna scene! I just finished watching today's episode (Christmas) and the last 2 days Y&R has been red hot! Tyler is SMOKING! Y&R has found its new "Malcolm" and we fans have been waiting for years. I actually enjoyed the scenes between Tyler & Lily...can you believe it! I'm loving Villy again and the rhythm is back in full stride. Loving fire crotch & pill popping Peter again! FLOVE Phack together. I loved the nice touch of Neil talking to Jack about being an addict which has been ignored completely since LML & MAB.

I'm loving it. I didn't like Pill popping Jack at first, but now I'm really enjoying it. It's providing some of the best stuff I've seen in years. I'm loving Jack and Phyllis' friendship/relationship or whatever it is.

Tyler and LIly are more interesting already than Cane and Lily EVER were in my opinion. The way Lily blushes and her eyes gleam when she looks at Tyler while he spits game. It's sooo....I just love it.

I want to know what in the world is going on with Avery. I like her and Nick, but I just wish whatever she was hiding would just come on out already. GOOD LAWD!!!

The new dude Mason serves his purpose I guess, even though his acting is beyond questionable...

I'm liking the fact that Adam is basically hurting Jack and helping him at the same time. Pretty creative....that Jack's dependance on pills could kind of save Jabot for him if he loses NE before he ties Jabot into it.

Sharon...idk. I still don't really see much redemption for her, but I'm enjoying her not acting TOTALLY crazy anymore.

Summer/Fen/Jamie....it's ok. Not loving it, but I can take it more than any other teen story we've seen on Y&R since after the GLow By Jabot kids...

Noah and this money, and the Adriana thing....I just don't care. Not one bit...

ok, here is an idea: how bout a new 'do for Nikki? Melody rocks with the shorter hair and this long "mess" is not becoming on a lady of her stature or age ( see "Jill" for an example.

Been loving seeing Michael as a family man instead of the D.A. all the time. Love me some Lauren.... this kiss with Summer and Fen was unexpected.

Love the new dynamics at J'Abott with the Winters family. I see Lily is smiling all of the time with this new attention.

Finally I enjoy the romance between Billy and Victoria. Sometimes you have to stand by your choice of mate through thick and thin, and I am glad to see Victoria has chosen to stand by her man.

this is the first time since Drucilla that I have literally paid attention to a scene with Lily in it. The way she is blushing and giggling like a little girl whenever "Tyler" is around is hysterical. I'm loving it

IMO, "Y & R" has been really good & quite entertaining since the new regime of EP Jill Farren Phelps and Head Writer Josh Griffith took the reins - enjoying it every day!!

What is working for me:

The New Noah: this young man can act - 'nuff said!

The disposing of former regime characters that didn't work: So long Genevieve, Yolanda/Harmony, Daisy, Heather, Sofia, Anita, Ronan & (soon) Tucker et all - you are all a faint memory to me!

The re-developing of MAB holdover characters: At first I was not a fan of Avery; I am now liking how she is FINALLY getting some back-story and history so we can figure out what makes her tick. Looking forward to how the story re Dylan McAvoy will play out.

The absence of Maria Arena Bell 'silliness': No moving of dead bodies, no crazy Patty, no Silver Chipmunks, no deaths by volcano

The current story lines: Jack getting hooked on Oxycodone; Sharon's bi-polar disorder; Adam's struggling to be grounded and not a loose cannon; Noah & the stolen $$; Katherine's slowly developing health issues; Fen's bullying of Jamie - these stories are being nicely developed unlike the crud that was tossed at us the past five years at lightning speed without an ounce of coherence.

That some viewers are bitching that the show is BORING obviously were not exposed to the "Y & R" that was written & produced under the guiding force of the late, great Bill Bell. His stories has beginnings, rising conflict, falling conflict and a conclusion. NOTHING under the LML & MAB regimes ever CAME CLOSE to that excellence. I tip my hat to HW Josh Griffith for going back to the basics and giving Mr. Bell's characters a chance to live again without the silliness and, in the case of MAB, plagiarism.

Yeah right. This is really 'exciting' stuff. Did Sharon start a fire that almost burned poor ol Victor's Bible? How far will Adam go to protect his obsession, even his boring marriage to former-scam artist Chelsea?

Tyler really has a 'thing' for the married ladies? Seems really strange, considering he's is basically escort-level material. That is always hankering after married women? But I like the guy, so the jury is out on him.

Phack. Fantastic stuff, enough said.

And as far Bill Bell goes. Bill gave us Sheila talking to the camera every day, then dying in a fire, then showing up in B&B-land as Eric Forrester's wife (he didn't even do background check on her).

Rick & Blade Bladeson. Dopple-ganagers. Yes, a gloriously long 2-year long double-double story-line involving Brenda Ep's Ashley.

David Kimball torturing Nina. Brad in a cage. Veronica Landers the Crazy Psycho stalking Nikki.

I know that some of you all like drama, character build-up, the great 'reveal' -- and I like it too. But let's not forget the rest of Bill Bell's charms. Doubles, over-the-top villains, sperm switching, crazies, and loonies.

I want that happy medium between MAB and Joshua Griffiths.

I am hoping that Fen is next crazie.

@Bartman...you said it so right. Everything is bonding together nicely and falling in place. This is a thinking person soap and this past December has been the best with the new team. The stories are making sense things are mounting and ramifications of the after math will naturally fall in place for the second layer of stories.

I think what I have enjoyed so much lately is all the romance on canvas and the coupling of characters. The setup for some great triangles are being positioned. Growth in the characters because the pace has slowed down letting fans understand motive( happening to the characters.

The bully story is not just one day thrown in your face but gradually we are seeing what is the driving force behind the story and slowly we are seeing how it affects Jamie and the stress it causes but also the affects on the parents and family. The best has yet to come! Speaking of Jamie I just have a gut feeling he will be connected to someone on canvas. The thought maybe Avery? Maybe Avery & Phyllis's dad made Avery give him up for adoption as a teen and he was adopted out and family fell apart...not sure but most of time there is a connection to the canvas with her backstory coming to forefront well....

I like that they are making Chole a fashion hooker again which fits better with her character. I can't believe I'm saying this but intrigued by Tyler & Lily and I think actually the actors could have been wanting a fresh storyline. Josh should really go there with Chole & Chelsea!

The best line of today's episode today was with Katherine when spatted at Jill "She's a neurotic ninny" I busted and loved it.

@harlee490: I concur with your post - everything is falling into place very nicely. My show has become more character-driven; their actions make so much more sense than they did during the Lynn Marie Latham & Maria Arena Bell years.

I think this because this is the first time in a long time that the EP & HW positions are being filled by 2 different people. LML & MAB were both the EPs and HWs and that was their downfall, IMO - these positions are not inter-twining.

Josh Griffith has undoubtedly shown to me and to many of my friends who watch "Y & R" that he is knowledgeable re the show's and character's rich history. Case in point: The whole Phyllis/Christine/Paul "hit & run" debacle from earlier this year. In the hands of a truly creative writer, this would have been an excellent story! What did we get instead? A dead Tim Reid, bodies in carpets, etc. How did Josh stop that awful mess that MAB made? By going back to the past and explaining that Christine aka the "Bug" was NOT a Federal agent at the time and that she lied just to prosecute!! Hell, even I knew that!! While some will complain that it killed a so-called 'great' story, Josh did his homework and stopped it dead in its tracks, courtesy of the past history developed by Bill Bell and his writers.

Again, I am enjoying "Y & R" again and it's been a L-O-N-G time since I actually said that!!

I think the current writers at Y&R are mediocre. JG and JFP are definitely an upgrade from MAB. You can tell Griffith is a trained writer. With MAB, Y&R had no organization and storylines were random and not thought out. However, there is excellent structure with the current storylines at Y&R and that might be the problem. Griffith needs more creativity and humor. It can be unbearably dull. However, at least I can sit there an episode of Y&R which was not possible under MAB's reign. She made the show unbearable and crazy, however, I don't know why Griffith feels responsible for carrying out MAB's dumb storylines.

I like how Griffith has made Chelsea a likable character. Chloe now has a semi-personality, again, (when she's away from Kevin....that couple needs to end). Sharon is on the right track. Phyllis and Victor being back burned has been a gift. However, I still find Ms. Easy Bake Oven to be pointless and a semi-sexist character. Kevin needs to leave.

I like Kevin, as someone who is still just a little more crazee and evil, and I hope that Fen starts to join in to his uncle's hi-jinks. Truly wishing that Kevin can be tied to what I hope is an organized crime story-line, with the coming in of Steve Burton. Then Fen cold be drawn in as well, as Kevin's under-study.

I am really wishing that Tyler could play more than one girl at a time, maybe Lily and Abby, when she returns to the canvas. Tyler could break up Cane and Lily, then find Tyler in bed with Abby, or something like that.

And if Cane is interviewing Sharon or Jabot like he was on today's Show, then that opens up all possibilities for Ms Collins. She can go with Cane, my own guess, and favorite pathway. Or maybe she could end with MILF-hunter Tyler. Adam finding that out would be great. It would also be good 'medicine' for Nick, too; to see his former wife 'taken' by someone who is in better physical 'shape'.

@hey mon: Y&R fans just don't respond very well to the black/white pairings for whatever reason it still ticks a segment off when it comes to black men with white women. Anyways he could flirt with Devon's girlfriend. That would put some action in it.

Well, in that xxxxx@xxxxx.com case, there needs to be an black male/white female interracial pairing ASAP. People need to get into the 21st century.

I remember a day in the late 80s, when I first met my wife's family. Her grandmother said, "He's Hispanic!" I felt bad for her. She wanted my wife to marry her first fiance', who slept with every effing girl in town before, during, and after, their engagement.

Lily and Daniel were a popular interracial couple. Phyllis and Dameon were popular as were Evangeline and Todd from OLTL. I would say within the past 10 years interracial dating on soaps has ceased to be a controversial issue.

@Dyllan: Black women and white man is okay today. Black men and white women not okay. That is still taboo. Yes Damon and Phyllis were lovers, but the reasons why the ended it so quickly and then got rid of Keith Hamilton Cobb was because there was just as much negative feedback from the pairing as their was when Neil was paired with Victoria (minus the death threats).

I love the "new" Y&R.... the sets, the scenes, the writing. I loved today's episode where Victoria talked about past NYEs with Nikki; Fen really showing what an asshole he is; Summer being terrified of Fen and his admission to Jamie.

Loved Chelsea with the cop; will she take Adam back?

Loved the scene with Phyllis and Jack at the GCAC - and then when Daniel came up, out of no where.... and then Jack with the "other red head"...

I also liked how Kyle warned Tracey, Abby, and esp Ashley about Jack's problem. It's funny how Jack calls Ashley and begged her to come home, she is the only one he trusts, after all the crap he has done to her.

Loved Billy Miller in his cute party hat and flannel pj bottoms....

I really liked seeing Lauren in the opening credits! I am so glad we are seeing a different side to Daniel these days, hopefully it will last.

I do have to wonder how Nick got a liquor license so fast for The Underground? Must have used contacts of dear old Dad's.

TraceyAbbott...Yes it was a good episode!...all the "effing" drama going in GC I absolutely love! Its melding together. Jack has given Ashley alot of grief but those Abbotts are thick as theivies That is what makes that family so good because Bill gave them such a strong moral patriarch in the beginning. Jack has also been very protected each sibling with passion and to the end, especially Jack has been protective of Ashley from day one.

psst...(we need a facebook page campaign to bring back Brenda Epperson as Ashley, there is twitter happening and she, Eileen, & Sherri just did an interview 2 weeks ago and they talked about her going back as Ashley, Brenda said she would be happy to return!) I think Y&R fans has a chance of her return because of their voice.

Jamie knowing its Summer being the tormentor! Sort of surprise, the reveal, I wasn't honestly expecting that twist so soon but just put a charge in that young triangle. Fen reminds me of young Greg Rikaar as young Kevin playing that scene.

Lauren was poured in that red dress lookin' mighty fine!! She looked absolutely breath taking! Kudos for Y&R making changes in hair, wardrobe, & makeup because it has changed drastically with the regime. I've notice big time. They put glamorous look back into Y&R as there standard. The businesses have EXTRAS into it looking busy! Nice production touches has made an big improvement.

Yes she is in the credits once again...awesome sign that Lauren going to have lots of story. Next in the credits Jill!

Phack...been thoroughly loving those two together...not much of secret on my part but makes my heart feel good. I have always and forever loved Jack & Phyllis together especially the last period of Kay & company with her and Diane fighting over Jack....sigh.

Really, the only problem I had were the scenes with Kevin and Daniel - they judt did not fit with the rest of the episode.. like they were shot earlier as there were no extras, etc milling about.

TraceyAbbott...They could had been shot before and it was "odd fit" in the episode. I'm glad there was some last scenes between Daniel & Kevin because they have always been friends through their women. I think having Daniel leaving with Lucy, Phyllis will cling on to Summer evener tighter.

Lily sure is liking all that attention and wasn't amused when Cane fired Tyler and Tyler calling it out to Lily. Lily won't be happy and this is start of the wedge into the relationship. Thank Gawd!

I remember when she was a child actress on ER for about five years. She was pretty good. Working on a soap is just way too demanding for some people.

Not too shabby this week. Josh G is starting to grow on me a bit. Hopefully, Adrianna will get into town as soon as possible, so we can see what all of the fuss is about.

The hooker threw The Show for a loop, and was great. Hopefully, JG will try to milk it for all its' worth, and Jack's dependence on Adam. Really liking the whole Jamie/Summer/Fen dynamic. Im hoping maybe JG can give the kid who plays Fen a larger role. He and Summer seem to have some chemistry.

I know that Kevin Rikaart has always asked for light-hearted scenes for Kevin. But this whole 'bag of money' is reminding me too much of The Chipmunk s/l a few years back. I know GR doesn't want to get pigeon-holed as 'Colleen's torturer' like he did a decade ago, but Kevin, you have becoming 'tiresome' (say it like Dieter from SNl in the mid 90s). Change him or get rid of him. Bring Gloria on for a few days, too; cause I could watch Judy C act out paint drying and be entertained.
