The Birthday party part 2.What's up on Days for 1/30
cast of characters: Will, Theo, Sidney, Carrie, Rafe, Abe, Lexie, Jennifer, EJ, Nicole, Stefano, Bo and Hope, Austin, John and Marlena.
As expected today just picked up where it left off on Friday. Actually they backed it up a little bit. Earlier, John and Marlena were in a flirty mood, Marlena was wearing a little leopard outfit that made John horny. After they hit the sack for some morning whoopie, they get up and prepare to go to Sidney's birthday party.
Over at the Brady Fish Market, Rafe is reeling in his own little catfish, Carrie. They are still practicing their little dance number in his little Lord Fontroy outfit and her princess bride costume. As he bends her over and nearly drops her, we see Sami outside the restaurant staring in at what she can not even fathom. As Rafe looks deeply into Carries eyes and Carrie is bracing herself for that first kiss she has been panting for, Austin and Sami walk in and want to know what the HELL is goin on! Rafe and Carrie try to cover saying the actors backed off and they had to sub as the prince and princess. Yeah ok but what the hell were you doing? Oh we were practicing our dance that we have to do. Ok fine but after that that you are gonna kiss me moment! Oh that was no big deal. Austin offered the simple truth that when someone has to say it's no big deal, it IS a big deal!
In the mean time Sami finds out that Will and not Caroline has Sidney. Why would he have Sidney? She tries to call for like ten minutes.
At the Dimera manse, EJ walks in on Abe switching the questions for the mayorial debate. Abe covers and says he is looking for a pen to sign Sid's b'day card. EJ who thinks Abe is stupid, accepts this lame excuse and leaves him be. (really remind me to NOT have Jennifer be my wing man when I am breaking the law! SHE SUCKS.) Apparently even though Jen could see everything that happened, and was standing there staring right into the hall way, had to be told that EJ walked in on Abe. He said it was fine. He covered. Meanwhile Lexie keeps going on about how honorable her hubbie is.
Jen notices that Will's cell phone is going off and tells him. Ofcourse he knows the phone is ringing and is lettling Sami stew in her own juices. He answers in his own sweet time and informs her that he has Sidney and she if fine! He finally tells Sami that they are at the Dimera's She blows out atleast a millions blood vessels in her brain. When Sami gets off the phone, Rafe offers to go with her. She looks him up and down, noting that he is still dress like Little Lord Fontroy,
"you want to go dressed like that?"
"We can go to the apartment and change if you want!" he offered. She just huffed out with Rafe following behind.
At the mansion Sami throws one of her temper tantrums, calling EJ and Nicole kidnappers and saying she has been generous in letting them see Sydney, since she has full custody and he signed his parental rights away. She wants the little girl and to go! Sydney walks in and says "STOP!"
Sami is all apologetic and eventually has to invite EJ and Nicole to the party. She puts will on alert that they are gonna have a talk, but Will is so happy his plan worked to upset Sami, that he can't think of anything unpleasant at that moment. EJ warns that he is playing with fire (really EJ?).
Stefano and Bo and Hope are still at it bantering about who wants into that box more, Stefano or the dynamic duo. Threats abound and ominous warnings abound and Hope uselessly threatens as well. LOL Stefano calls her on it. "You are always saying you are going to get me, but you never have." Bo accuses Stefano of being both afraid and inssatiably curious about what is in that box. (at this point I just want a grenade that pulls the cord when you open to box.) That box remains unexamined.
When Sami and Rafe leave the pub, that leaves Carrie and Austin alone. He is really upset and lays into her about her not wanting to spend any time with him but has every minute for Rafe. John and Marlena walk in on the fueding party and feel the tension. John goes to Austin and Marlena goes to Carrie to get the scoop. Austin believes his wife doesn't want to be with him. (the audience has picked up on that too Austin!)
Party time! yeah! Syd gets to her real party now and starts getting even more presents. As everyone pours in Rafe turns to Sami and says that this is what Sydney will remember 20 years from now. Sami says,"I have the feeling I am going to remember everything about this day". With the previews I have seen, that might be true Sami.
Coming soon, a kiss is still a kiss, but seeing your mom sofa sexing is a whole other ball of wax!
As noted Lisa di Cazotte is now in the screen credits, replacing Noel Maxim. I didn't notice much different today than Friday. but then tomorrow is a new day. My hope is that it is a good fit with what is going on with the show now. I wouldn't mind seeing the heat turned up a little but I do NOT want to see a portal to hell in the Horton coat closet!
Yes, I think yesterday's episode was a good build up for the rest of week. It wasn't a "must see" can't miss but rather a good mover towards what is coming up by end of the week. I loved how Sami looked at Rafe (In that outfit) after she got the call from Will...Rafe said he was going with her, I think Galen could have a comedic side to him and viewers might not realize it, maybe should be explored more and adds another layer to Rafe. Not every episode is going to be spine tingling but Days by far right now is doing the best day-in day-out episodes then any soap right now. You are so right if we see the portal of hell open up from the Horton's home I'm outta there, I hope Ken, Sony & company realize they are on the right track and not go into panic mode and go so out there in stories that Days once again becomes a joke with only 4 soaps left, not a good move it could have the opposite effect. Lets hope Lisa di Cazotte takes note doesn't go hog wild and keeps the character driven stories intact, don't isolate characters, and dumb down the dialogue and constant repeat of characters interjecting the story as Days always did with JER always acting like dimwitted robots. Nothing beats intelligent soap rather aiming for the so called demos of '12-17 year olds...PLEEZE

Actually Galen has a good sense of humor. His Faux Rafe was hysterically funny to me. It was a wildly unpopular story but I thought the highlight of that story was Galen. His faux Rafe was more of a person than the real one is lol. I can not wait for them to get him away from Sami and his being her whipping post. I bet Carrie will bring out the man in him.
I think Sami needs to hook up with Dr Daniel. I bet he would LOVE to be her little S/M toy. Couldn't you just see him weeping everytime she berated him? LOL. She would appreciate his nice body too! Sami tends to go for the muscle bound boys. I think Rafe has a nice body but not championship sculpted like Sami enjoys. EJ, Lucas, Austin, and Brandon Walker (ex) all have smokin' bods.
I am so tired of adults finding out they’re not who they thought they were. My mother and father are not my mother and father, but most conveniently my real mother or real father just conveniently happens to be someone I interact with on a daily basis or is my worst enemy in the world.
This (or some version of it) has been done to death in soaps. Please don’t let this be where the Hope-Stefano locked box storyline is going.
Amen to that Soap Armagedon! However I am feeling a John and Hope love child out there in the world. Probably on social security by now lol. Probably Ian Buchanan. That would make Madison Hope and John's granddaughter! Which would mean that Brady has been doing the nasty with his neice!
