While I don't mind KA coming over from OLTL, I was thinking, since they've seemed intent on bringing on the Soleito family from Tracy's past, they would cast the character of Gina with this younger actress. I'm also on record as not in favor of the direction they are going with Sam and Jason, as well as Ethina. I am sad for you, as much as I am sad for the Liason fans, and, as you know me,

I have been waiting and campaigning since 1999 for GH to write for my couple! Yes, I left GH back in the winter of 2008 after they broke up Liason, Skate, JoLu, and the killings of Alan, Emily and Georgie lost the show 1,000,000 viewers in 2007. I will read Perkie's GH recaps and an occasional Liz scene on YT, but that is the extent of my watching GH. The "agenda" driven BS in firing RH and then killing off Jake and not allowing one of the shows lead to not be able to ever raise his son has truly ticked me off and I see why you're wanting to turn off GH after the news of LA being fired and the Sam/Franco junk.
The one difference I see is that there doesnt seem to be another popular alternative to Ethina. The have ethan walking around a castle alone every few days and Kristina gets to be background fodder for the JaSam wedding. I think everyone is either angry that they havent gone forward with ethina because they are fans OR they are ambivalent. Conversely choosing between Liason and JaSam was going to piss of one sizable fan base either way and a choice had to be made. Im sorry for you and the other Liason fans truly that it didnt go your way, but Im personally happy that they went with jaSam, even if I am UNHAPPY with the writing for my couple.
Where I would agree there is agenda is in the firing of both women. For whatever reason frons phelps guza and perhaps wolfe has a definition in their mind of what is beautiful and anyone that doesnt meet that standard seems to be endangered of being fired or back burnered. Isnt part of what makes a soap interesting that the characters resemble america - whether that means having minorities on the show or same sex characters or older characters or heavy characters or characters that just arent classically beautiful. I look at say my group of people that I hang out with or my face book friends and they definitely are not all model material. I certainly am not. If I had to rate all my friends, some would be potential model material but some of them would be way at the other scale based solely on outward appearance. And if they are going to hold the women to that standard, what about the men. I dont think bradford anderson is someone I want to see naked in playgirl LOL. nothing against bradford, I just dont think he is as hunky as say brandon barash or steve burton and yet I love the character of spinelli. So if tiic recognize that bradford has just as many fans as brandon even though brandon is more of your typical soap hunk and they are willing to write for him, why not write for the female characters regardless of what they think of their sexual desirability? But then again who am I fooling, the only time women on this show get story is when they get shot, raped, kidnapped, or otherwise attacked or when they are grieving the man that they love being shot. What happened to the promised alexis story? what happened to the sams dad story? Ethina? those were the stories I wanted to watch not franco raping sam and ethan finally confessing his feelings to fake Kristina.
EET-You make an extremely important point (at least in my view) about "looks" being used to define what a character does or doesn't do within the fabric of a daytime drama. That TPTB seem to prefer a more "mature" Kristina says to me that:
#1)They would rather have the "Whole package" already available to "plug in" as it were in LA's role and #2) They have a distinct lack of knowledge, talent or time (take your pick) with regard to actually "writing" for the actors who have created these roles. That LA is younger, I have come to believe, should not be an impediment to her being in a romance with NP's Ethan. If the story was sensitively written, you would have so many people clammoring for this type of pairing and GH would reap the rewards of demographics and viewership. Alas, if rumors pan out, we'll never know what could have happened. But that's the thing we've come to expect from this bunch. On a personal preference, I know that some don't see DZ as attractive by soap standards in his pairing with JMB. I think that's exactly why he works (for me), in this role, because he strikes me as visually "real". If he was, say a "body" like any of the Ford brothers over at OLTL, yes, it would be lovely to look at, but not as believable.

To also add a comment to what EET posted, as the saying goes, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." I think each of the women mentioned are beautiful. Not to be mean, I personally don't think Laura Wright is anywhere near beautiful, but she is a strong actress. Apparently TBTB have a reason for utilizing her at every chance on GH. I think there are reasons other than beauty. If I am not mistaken, Ethan and Kristina were to be somewhat of a replica to Luke and Laura. Genie Francis was extemely young when she started at GH, and all the while her character was married to Scotty, and then the relationship with Luke. There was a wider gap in the personal age differences between Tony Geary and Kin Shriner. Lexi is only has a 4 year age difference between her and Nathan Parsons. So to me, the whole idea for a recast under this generality, is ridiculous. I also hate that Lexi may feel somewhat "inadequate" because of her small stature going forward. The rumor that I have heard, which is with a grain of salt, is Branford Barash is against a possible triangle between Kristina, Johnny, and Ethan. He has expressed he feels Lexi appearance is too young and has been adament about not being on board. Apparently this is the direction they were taking the story. ( I would assume, Johnny would become interested in Kristina, and Ethan would start to have a strong reaction and decide he has had feelings for Kristina all along. This is just my idea of where the story may lead).
So it's official Lexi is out at GH, she just confirmed on twitter not too long ago, I can't believe they would let an actress with her level of talent go because she looks young, at the rate GH is going, I'll be watching it online right after the never should've been cancelled OLTL. Ill add this too - one thing I dont think tptb understand is the next generation of viewers is YOUNG female girls. YOUNG female girls would LOVE the idea that it is possible for kristina to get a guy like ethan JUST like young girls loved the idea that someone as young as laura could land a savvy nightclub owner.
When I was 11 I wanted to marry Shaun Cassidy or Andy Gibb, but while I may not understand celebrity, I certainly understood "too old". I had crushes on school teachers, my guitar teacher, the junior high school kid that mowed our lawn etc. etc. Laura coming along appealed to me in part because of all those impossible crushes. Sure middle american moms might not like it at first, but thats why the story should go slow, should refrain from being too sexual and should stress kristina a. communicating with her parents and b. her age (not just by saying it, but also by having her working or other characters saying to alexis and/or sonny dont forget shes an adult just because she LOOKS young, where would you at that age? kind of thing) Those aspects were key in the luke and laura love story - remember they didnt sleep together ONCE while they were on the run together so we saw them as a couple for a long time without them being intimate or sexual. If they did ethina they way they did l&l, parents wouldnt balk, but GIRLS would eat it up with a spoon just like young girls love the girl on twilight dating a guy 80 billion years older than her.
Jasam--Thanks for the spoilers. EET, you are absolutely right. Younger viewers, and the stories they want to see, bring life into these shows. I like good teen stories, and I've said that before. Like MANY here, I got hooked in high school. I'm sad and pissed about the Lexi news.

I just think young girls LOVE the idea of a young girl/older guy story. I STILL wish I knew how to make a move when I was just shy of 15 because there was this super shy boy on the block that I thought was SOOO cute and I knew he liked me but he was almost 19 and it was clear to me that he was debating if he could get away with it. He would take me out dirt biking or he would teach me how to drive in the undeveloped sub across the street and then suddenly things would get a little to quiet and he would freak out and say he had to go home. If I had a time machine I would go back to me at that age and tell myself to pull a Kristina and chase him the way K chases ethan. LOL
And like you said, I dont think ANYONE likes Ethina because its lukes son and sonnys daughter or their would be more lante fans. The fan base is solely because of the chemistry. It IS just like skate. People liked skate because of MW and Mo's chemistry, not because viewers were clamoring for sonny to romance some gal from bensonhurst. If that was the case, again, Solivia would have become popular when kate was dating coleman.
EET-Loved your sweet little tale of teen "unrequited love". Sounds like TPTB could/should take a page from your "history"! Maybe you could start your own forum for "stories for soaps from our own experiences". Someone on the writing teams could snitch one and "weave" it in to the fabric of the shows that are left. Swan LOL I dont even know if its "my" story...I think ethina works because the teen in love with the older boy is fairly universal. Maybe its not the boy down the street, but its the rock star or the teacher or the neighbor or the mentor...and usually I think it amounts to nothing and probably shouldnt amount to anything BUT watching it play out in fantasy is a totally different thing. I think young kids would eat it up so the idea that viewers will tune out because of lexis apparent age is just silly. To me, if anything, her youth is an asset..as someone mentioned on the main pages its akin to luke and laura or even robin/stone or robin/jason and of course original sonny/brenda - all uber successful pairings. I think the rumors that tiic are doing things to purposefully sink gh is sounding more and more legitimate.
@Swan-Yes, my daughter is very dissappointed with Lexi leaving the show. She is 13 and so relates to Molly. They are both bookworms. I started watching soaps around 8-9 because my babysitters watched it. 12-13 is probably the age, alot of girls start watching soaps so to attract their attention, you need a storyline they can relate to. Just putting an opinion out there. I really want Lexi to exceed elsewhere, but if another soap such as DOOL would be interested in Lexi and or Haley, and maybe even snatching NLG, that would be a smart move on their part. I remember when Rick Hearst was on DOOL years ago. I used to run home during high school to watch DOOL. It was a must see TV for me. DOOL was so good back then but once I started college, I stopped viewing the show. Since the DOOL 2.0 I watched a couple of episodes recently. I honestly did not really care for the young actors/actresses on the show. They just did not grab my attention. As I said this is just my opinion, as I really don't know much about the current landscape of DOOL. But they could really snatch up a lot of GH viewers.
I will miss LA as Kristina. I definately love the Davis girls as they are, and if some of the other rumors are true, I won't like KA from OLTL as Krissy if she comes on. If we end up with JPL as a recast Dillon, we had better not end up with FF in any way, shape, or form because if that happens I will turn off my beloved GH I've watched since the late 70's and never watch it again.

- NuDOC (Dr. Eween Keenan) will be showing up in town, involved with Julie Berman (Lulu) and Scott Reeves (Steven). He also has strong connections with NuDOC#2 (Maggie, rumored to be Woman In White).
-Johnathon Jackson (Lucky Spencer) could deffinately be on his way OUT when his contract expires in November.

So to me, the whole idea for a recast under this generality, is ridiculous. I also hate that Lexi may feel somewhat "inadequate" because of her small stature going forward. The rumor that I have heard, which is with a grain of salt, is Branford Barash is against a possible triangle between Kristina, Johnny, and Ethan. He has expressed he feels Lexi appearance is too young and has been adament about not being on board. Apparently this is the direction they were taking the story. ( I would assume, Johnny would become interested in Kristina, and Ethan would start to have a strong reaction and decide he has had feelings for Kristina all along. This is just my idea of where the story may lead).
So it's official Lexi is out at GH, she just confirmed on twitter not too long ago, I can't believe they would let an actress with her level of talent go because she looks young, at the rate GH is going, I'll be watching it online right after the never should've been cancelled OLTL. I wonder which asshat (excuse my language) was responsible for this decision and what kinda statement they'll release and if it will be similar to the crap spewed in the statement they released when they tried to fire Becky.

Jasam-Thanks for the "tidbits". This is such sad news and I didn't think it would hit me as hard as it has. I guess your daughter may not be watching anymore. Unless they put Molly on more. The way they're going the younger fans they covet won't tune in because they can't relate to who and what they're seeing. LA will land on her feet and come up smiling.(Her film deal is proof of that.)...till next time...
Ill add this too - one thing I dont think tptb understand is the next generation of viewers is YOUNG female girls. YOUNG female girls would LOVE the idea that it is possible for kristina to get a guy like ethan JUST like young girls loved the idea that someone as young as laura could land a savvy nightclub owner.
When I was 11 I wanted to marry Shaun Cassidy or Andy Gibb, but while I may not understand celebrity, I certainly understood "too old". I had crushes on school teachers, my guitar teacher, the junior high school kid that mowed our lawn etc. etc. Laura coming along appealed to me in part because of all those impossible crushes. Sure middle american moms might not like it at first, but thats why the story should go slow, should refrain from being too sexual and should stress kristina a. communicating with her parents and b. her age (not just by saying it, but also by having her working or other characters saying to alexis and/or sonny dont forget shes an adult just because she LOOKS young, where would you at that age? kind of thing) Those aspects were key in the luke and laura love story - remember they didnt sleep together ONCE while they were on the run together so we saw them as a couple for a long time without them being intimate or sexual. If they did ethina they way they did l&l, parents wouldnt balk, but GIRLS would eat it up with a spoon just like young girls love the girl on twilight dating a guy 80 billion years older than her.
Jasam--Thanks for the spoilers. EET, you are absolutely right. Younger viewers, and the stories they want to see, bring life into these shows. I like good teen stories, and I've said that before. Like MANY here, I got hooked in high school. I'm sad and pissed about the Lexi news.

Raven has alluded to the fact that there would be a HUGE firing this fall. I still wonder if MB is out. To be honest, I don't feel like his storyline since Brenda left has been that great. I'm blah about Sonny and Kate. I don't dislike nuKate, but I adored MW. The spoilers for Sonny have been minimal to be honest. I feel like the writers are setting Michael up to take over.

I just think young girls LOVE the idea of a young girl/older guy story. I STILL wish I knew how to make a move when I was just shy of 15 because there was this super shy boy on the block that I thought was SOOO cute and I knew he liked me but he was almost 19 and it was clear to me that he was debating if he could get away with it. He would take me out dirt biking or he would teach me how to drive in the undeveloped sub across the street and then suddenly things would get a little to quiet and he would freak out and say he had to go home. If I had a time machine I would go back to me at that age and tell myself to pull a Kristina and chase him the way K chases ethan. LOL
And like you said, I dont think ANYONE likes Ethina because its lukes son and sonnys daughter or their would be more lante fans. The fan base is solely because of the chemistry. It IS just like skate. People liked skate because of MW and Mo's chemistry, not because viewers were clamoring for sonny to romance some gal from bensonhurst. If that was the case, again, Solivia would have become popular when kate was dating coleman.
EET-Loved your sweet little tale of teen "unrequited love". Sounds like TPTB could/should take a page from your "history"! Maybe you could start your own forum for "stories for soaps from our own experiences". Someone on the writing teams could snitch one and "weave" it in to the fabric of the shows that are left. Of course, we'd probably have to assume they'd mess it up...On second thought, forget I said anything about this. Just write your own. You should reap the rewards, not those who are decimating GH(or any other soap for that matter)...
Swan LOL I dont even know if its "my" story...I think ethina works because the teen in love with the older boy is fairly universal. Maybe its not the boy down the street, but its the rock star or the teacher or the neighbor or the mentor...and usually I think it amounts to nothing and probably shouldnt amount to anything BUT watching it play out in fantasy is a totally different thing. I think young kids would eat it up so the idea that viewers will tune out because of lexis apparent age is just silly. To me, if anything, her youth is an asset..as someone mentioned on the main pages its akin to luke and laura or even robin/stone or robin/jason and of course original sonny/brenda - all uber successful pairings. I think the rumors that tiic are doing things to purposefully sink gh is sounding more and more legitimate.
@Swan-Yes, my daughter is very dissappointed with Lexi leaving the show. She is 13 and so relates to Molly. They are both bookworms. Also, she also has a crush on Nathan Parsons and was living vicarously through the Ethan and Kristina storyline. This is normal and to be expected at her age. I started watching soaps around 8-9 because my babysitters watched it. 12-13 is probably the age, alot of girls start watching soaps so to attract their attention, you need a storyline they can relate to. With Lexi gone, and I am hearing Molly too, who on the show is left for her to relate to?
Just putting an opinion out there. I really want Lexi to exceed elsewhere, but if another soap such as DOOL would be interested in Lexi and or Haley, and maybe even snatching NLG, that would be a smart move on their part. I remember when Rick Hearst was on DOOL years ago. I used to run home during high school to watch DOOL. It was a must see TV for me. DOOL was so good back then but once I started college, I stopped viewing the show. Since the DOOL 2.0 I watched a couple of episodes recently. I honestly did not really care for the young actors/actresses on the show. They just did not grab my attention. As I said this is just my opinion, as I really don't know much about the current landscape of DOOL. But they could really snatch up a lot of GH viewers.
I will miss LA as Kristina. I definately love the Davis girls as they are, and if some of the other rumors are true, I won't like KA from OLTL as Krissy if she comes on. If we end up with JPL as a recast Dillon, we had better not end up with FF in any way, shape, or form because if that happens I will turn off my beloved GH I've watched since the late 70's and never watch it again.
Jasam-I can remember "drooling" over Rick Hearst when he was paired off with Sonja Satra on GL as Alan Michael Spaulding and Lucy Cooper. After they wrote them off, is that when he found his way on to DOOL? I know I was thrilled when he showed up on GH.I loved him being paired with NLG. And, then, as with so much on this show, it all went south...
And all I can do is...sigh...

- Lexi Ainsworth's Kristina Corinthos has a relapse. Kristina leaves Port Charles to go to a rehab, and when she comes back, her character will be recast with a new actress in the role.
- Gina Soleito will be showing up on the show sometime late fall, early winter. The role has not been casted yet.
- NuDOC (Dr. Eween Keenan) will be showing up in town, involved with Julie Berman (Lulu) and Scott Reeves (Steven). He also has strong connections with NuDOC#2 (Maggie, rumored to be Woman In White).
-Johnathon Jackson (Lucky Spencer) could deffinately be on his way OUT when his contract expires in November.
- Kimberly McCullough (Robin), Jason Thompson (Patrick), Jason Cook (Matt) ARE SAFE! Despite what many rumors say. Their storyline follows throughout January 2012. Brianna Brown's Lisa Niles WILL be killed off this November.
- I'm hearing when Brianna Brown's Lisa dies, a whodunit story kicks off and follows into 2012 involving many people. All these people have the motive to kill her, so WHODUNIT? Suspects: Robin, Patrick, Maxie, Matt, Liz, Olivia, and Steven.
- Unfortunately, I hear from multiple sources that GENERAL HOSPITAL's final airdate will be in September 2012. The Cast and the crew has supposedly gotten their warning, and ABC has told them all to keep mum. I'm hearing Garin Wolf will be writing for a small stint, and Bob Guza will return at the end to wrap up GH.
I try to make sure to apply the "grain of salt" proviso to all the spoilers I
read, so as not to be disappointed when some don't come to pass. The one about
Sam is terribly cruel. Whether you care for her character or not, this treatment is simply too much if it pans out. I can't imagine anyone wanting to see this story. The Liason fans have had to deal with seemingly endless slights and insults. Is this the writers way of making things even out so that Sam gets her
fair share? Is this something that, for sure is "in the can" and taped already?
Or can we call and register our displeasure? Is there any way this spoiler can be verified? This is just upseting to me and not just from a soap point of view...
The spoilers about Sam are beyond disgusting. I don't know who's story-boarding this tripe, but whomever that person is, he is a perverted creeper--be it Frons or Wolfe. If during the time that GH has left, TPTB cannot bring back our favs and give us the stories we want (a la OLTL), they should pull the plug right now. Anyone with even the slightest bit of character would be ashamed to produce this sh*t. If they stopped production right now--and never shot another episode, I would be set free.
