That was it??? Did I miss if they even mentioned Frannie, Sabrina, Andy, Lien, Penny etc? Did John and his daughter and grandson even see each other at HER house??? WHile I know Chris and Katie have known each other for years, them talking about celebrating their 50th seemed strange.

Yep, that was it. Which is why I felt cheated. I think the show copped out and didn't want to do anything expensive or extravagant to honor Helen Wagner (what a cheap shot Christopher Goutman).

Helen Wagner requested that the show not do anything extravagant or "make a lot of fuss" after she passed away. This request was made in the final years of her life, I believe. They covered this in Soap Opera Digest, I believe. The understated funeral was simply ATWT's way of honoring her wishes.

I agree ATWT could have done more but, when Helen died, the show had already been planned and scripted to the end of the series. The writers and producers had to back-track to fit-in any kind of memorial at all. I would have loved to see Penny and Don and, certainly, Ellen Stewart. I fear we will see none of them before the show ends. The show probably has limited resources for guest stars and spend the money it had on getting Larry Bryggman back. It has been great to see him.
