ATWT: Today's Show (Friday, August 27, 2010) began my mourning process...................
Today's show was really the beginning of the end. It was quite clear during Barbara and Henry's wedding (which BTW was beautiful), more importantly, during Barbara's vows to Henry about all of the mistakes she'd made in the past, her cancer, and the fact that as she put it, "my world will continue to turn". That's when I lost it. That's when the tears started finally flowing for yet another show I will have to say good-bye to after more than 25 years of watching my world turn every afternoon at 1 pm CT. Barbara and Will talking about Hal (boy, I really lost it there............I still miss Benjamin Hendrickson (ex-Hal) dearly). Then Barbara and Kim talking about Barbara's daughter Jennifer and then Kim mentioning that BOTH Jennifer's are there in spirit.
Get your hankies ready gang, next Monday and Tuesday will likely be the hardest shows we'll have to watch that leads up to the finale. It is on Monday that we learn of Nancy Hughes' death and on Tuesday, everyone getting together to do something to honor not only Nancy, but more importantly, Helen Wagner, the woman who played that character for well over 54 years. It really is just a shame she couldn't make it to the end. But in reality, I think Helen's passing was, for lack of better words, God's reminding all of us that nothing is forever. Something must come to an end, just as Helen's life did and just as "As The World Turns" will do on Friday, September 17th, 2010 when the millions of fans who've watched this show for generations or more will bid a fond and bitter farewell to a show we all love so dearly.
I would urge all of you to certainly share your most memorable moments of "As The World Turns" as you've watched this show over the years, whether you've only been watching it in the last five years or you've been watching it for 50.

The Episode was hammer rocking hard! I bawled like a romantic puppy. My Soap dreams were fulfilled as Henry and Babs finally married. Paul and Emily having time for themselves in their James-free life and yes, the dance... OMG! I kept saying it throughout the whole episode... let them dance, let them dance! I am truly grateful that my favorite couples will have their happy ending.
As for the funeral next week, it will be sad but I am sure just as fulfilling as was my Bank-Wedding.
As for Ried giving up his life for Chris.................... where is the gong??? Bad move, but I guess that is all par for the course. Not much left for me, but I will be there til the end, just as I was for GL.
Don't grieve yet, Mate.. at least ATWT is going out with splendor and for that we can be truly happy!
