YR - Adam's "Intervention"
Talk about POWERFUL STUFF! I was on the edge of my seat watching yesterday's episode. Everyone that was affected by Adam all in the same room. WOW! My moment of the day was when Victor slapped the taste out of Adam's mouth! I guess Victor Newman showed him that he is RUTHLESS!
Seeing Phyllis' face when she read that letter. You could see that she knew the writing was on the wall. PHICK are OVER! She knows her husband will probably leave her again. Then at the end of yesterday's episode she is standing out side of the cabin and is going to burn the letter. I was screaming at my TV!
I am so ready for today's episode. That will be the first thing I watch when I get off from work and from what I hear it's even BETTER than yesterday's.
What are your thoughts on this Adam "Intervention"?

Smitty---
I couldn't agree more!! Y&R's episode yesterday was the EPITOME of perfect soap opera!! Just like those scenes on GH where Sonny confronted Claudia about all she had done at the party!!! These kind of scenes make all the other GARBAGE that the writers ask me to sit through leading up to it seem ALMOST worth it!!!
I almost collapsed on the floor with laughter when Victor SLAPPED Adam----bitch slapped him, actually!! LONG overdue!!!!
Seeing Phyllis outside at the end getting ready to burn the letter was not suspenseful at all, unfortunately, since I know now that the truth is gonna be revealed!! Y&R has already tortured us enough, so having Phyllis conceal the truth from everyone would have probably been the last straw!!!
I need to see some sort of resolution to this storyline soon!!! Next, I need this stupid Patty/Emily garbage to be resolved, and then I need Daisy and Ryder to ride off into the sunset together never to be seen or heard from again!!! THEN, get RID of Jana and Cane!!! Bring back Victoria Rowell, find something to do with Malcolm, and this show will be damn near perfect!!!!!
So I've seen today's ep and as the person above me said - it was well worth sitting through a whole bunch of Daisy / Jana / Ryder / Lauren noise just to see Adam's lies get peeled back like an onion, layer by layer. I think the whole point of a character like Adam is to get the viewers to feel so strongly that they tune in from one day to the next to see what happens, and the writers did just that with the last week's worth of scenes with Adam, et. al.
Now if they could only clear up that plot point about EXACTLY how blind Adam is - one minute he has no peripheral vision, the next...well, the next minute he's doing what he did in the last 5 minutes of today's show [I don't want to spoilerize for anyone] . But wow, Y and R - it was worth wading through the stories that sucked on the show to get to the meat and potatoes of what makes this show rock so much. Well acted characters with powerful writing [for] those characters that keep you hooked to the screen. Well played today, Y and R, well played. Bring on Monday!
I haven't been watching Y&R lately because of the Daisy/Ryder stuff, but I tuned in this week FOR SURE!! It was well done, but having them spell out everything thing that Adam did I amazed that the writers wrote all of that...talk about character assassination. Now, with Adam blackballed and soon to be "taken care of" and the truth that Faith is reall Shick's it struck me that the PTB are systematically removed all of Victor's non-Nikki children. If I were Abby I'd be a little afraid!!! Because I remember when Victor was with Hope, the fact they could villify his son like that makes you wonder what kind of agenda they have. Maybe Genoa City only has room for the "Real Newmans" Ha ha Ha
This was damn good! I was entertained the entire hour (even through the commercials).
Having everyone in one place at one time was perfect (and very expensive from the actors salary standpoint). Just goes to show that you don't need a fancy set when you have good writing and good actors (well most of them). Money well spent on today's episode.
Are you paying attention OLTL?
Yesterday's episode of Y&R was like Thanksgiving! It was so good! The writing was stellar and the acting was A+. If you are a fan or past fan of Y&R I suggest you watch that episode. Adam's reign of terror has been going on for over a year so this was like we were finally getting some payoff for all that he has done. I was glued to the TV for that hour and it was well worth it!
Eileen Davidson broke my heart! I felt so sorry for Ashley. ED played the scenes so well and it was powerful. You can tell that she isn't going to give up Faith without a fight.
I am so ready for next week's episodes! It was pure soap heaven! Y&R has been must see.
I am betting the show is regretting their decision not to pre-nominate Eileen Davidson for an Emmy. I think they should have.
I am looking forward to seeing what happens with this story.......
IMO,
It was awesome on many levels, mostly taking "TIME" to conclude this it was a long wait but they used a lot of minutes nearly the whole episode was used to wrap this up in the cabin Their use of music was well placed.
Even Nick stepped it up I laughed when he said "SHUT-UP or I swear."
...well worth the wait, excellent acting. I didn't read spoilers because I wanted to maintain my level of suspense ...What got me is Adam, a sociopath, believing his own lies..the horror slowly being revealed in that cabin and everyone' reaction to putting the peices together. Like an old time Charlie Chan mystery...
I actually felt kind of sorry for him for intervals (fleeting) but to get me on an emotional ride like this is good drama. I even started to believe him . I'm like wait a minute he did do this..... WTH?
I'm not a huge Phyllis fan but she was mesmorizing all the way, Michael, ditto, Muhney "rocked it." he got down for his dust and then some emmy reels...were in this eppy
...Eileen Davidson' Ashley, the journey she took me on with her realizing the horror of what was done to her also that the baby is not hers...but she stood firm never waivering once she figured Adam out she's never backstroked.
Billy, Jack / Billy said I'll kick his butt myself. I liked how he stood back but even his reaction shots were awesome...just everything timed and executed perfectly. I teared up when Phyllis and the attorney were talking and she had to fess up and say she is Mrs. Newman and why..."its about a baby...please please"
Rafe I wub him, Heather was good too for me...I actually thought Phyllis wasn't going to show up and went oh, when she suddenly appeared.
Poll the jury, Adam goes, "you're all insane."
Excellent soap opera not stunts, no special click/booms effects just the use of excellent flashbacks...Go Eileen Go! girlfriend got down. I hated her being gaslighted but if this was the end result it was well worth it dramatically speaking....
Question: Is this a woman "driven storyline"
Is this a "character driven storyline"
I'm still having problems discerning these and I wish for some examples on here and/or on your podcast...eg when you are describing storylines please mention these two in your descriptives...I've always had a tough time with these...
Thanks.
