The horrible lighting
February 19, 2010 - 10:00am
Who lights this show? Days needs to get a new lighting crew. The show is way too bright, to the point where people practically shimmer. They look over-exposed.
I also noticed Days no longer sets scenes at night. Is this because they cannot afford to light the sets for nighttime scenes? All the former ambience and moodiness created by the darker lighting is gone. The only set that looks properly lit is the DiMera mansion. The Cheatin' Heart is the worst offender because it's traditionally been a darker set, mostly seen "at night", but it's so bright in there it's jarring.
Crystal Chappell and Molly Burnett particularly look washed out by the lighting. Not a fan!

AlistarCrane, I haven't really noticed that. I am too busy chuckling at all the other ridiculous aspects of this show, like the cheesy dialogue, the crazy character assassinations and those terrible excuses for actors known as the "under 30" group!!!
I don't really pay much attention to production values when I am watching shows, but I do pay attention to wasted talent, and that's all I really see lately on the rare occasions that I do watch DAYS!!!
I don't really pay attention to production values unless they are awful and stand out....and the lighting stands out!
Never noticed it before; I watch on Hulu on the weekends so I am on my
I'll pay better attention.
