The Great Sam Vs. Liz Debate!

It's so weird to see the Sam vs. Liz debate thread empty, lol!! Remember when it was like 200 pages long??

I actually don't think I have much to say anymore about Sam vs. Liz, especially since they're pretty much out of each other's orbits now. Sam's my girl, always will be and I think it's pretty safe to say I'm always going to hate Liz.

I loooove that Sam is back to her old self and that she and Jason are back together again - as it should be :)

You're also going to love something on one of the two upcoming Top 5 podcasts that might have something to do with Sam. lol

First off, I love both actresses.

Having said that, as a character I prefer Sam.  Liz is too holier than thou slut in disguise.  I don't mind sluttiness but at least be honest about it and don't act like your the second coming or something.

troymcclure: Exactly!! Every character is flawed and does bad things - I'm okay with that. But Liz has always acted like her sh*t don't stink and that drives me nuts! I hate that she thinks she's better than everyone else and has a very short memory when it comes to her own bad deeds. grrrr!

I really like the way they have been interacting lately, but I really want them to get back to cat fighting and being snarky.

 I wish we could get away from calling all the women sluts. The men have been with just as many women, but when it comes to Liz and Sam the name calling is borderline --if not entirely--sexist. I like both actresses/characters, but yes I am still a liason fan.

If you want to go after liz, what do you think of Sam today? The writers now have her legitimizing Jason's violence. I don't think the writers are doing these two women any favours right now. If I have to choose between Liz being with Lucky's brother, and Sam encouraging Jason to trust his instincts as a killer, the decision will be easy.

Lizard is too busy snarking out the rest of PC to snark at SuperSleuthSam. Give her time, she will get back to it soon enough - but there is only so much her brow can take LOL.

I am a Liz fan! I do have issues with how their writing her right now, but then I have an issue with how GH is writing all its female characters. As much as like Liason, I am enjoying having Liz out of the mob's orbit. The mob typifies the misogynistic nature of this show.  Any women sucked into its orbit quickly become spineless creatures who simply do what their "men" want.  It is happening again to Sam, she is simply Jason's sidekick, a willing alibi and legitimizer of his violence. They were already making Liz follow a similar route before Liason ended. Since this is a Liz and Sam board, feel free to goad me on my love of all things Liz, but keep in mind what the writers are doing to your Sam. Nothing to be proud of there.

 Wait until Lizard finds out that Sam and Jason are back togather.... muhahahaha i love that my Jasam are back together.... they are making Lizard to be such a whore... it is like deja view with Lizard... same affair.... same cheating on Lucky(which i don't like this new/old Lucky... I prefer GV)... Just a different guy...this is even worst.. his own brother....

Liz has been my favorite character ever since 1999 when I started to watch GH. I don't know why but I just can't hate Liz, she is the character I always root for. I like her with all the pairings that she had, she just has so much chemistry with all the guys that she had been with! Though, I still want her back with JJ's Lucky. 

Currently, I don't like her situation with Nikolas, but then again, it would be boring for Lucky and Liz to get back together without any conflicts. The outcome of Niz better bring out some good drama and hopefully make Liz not to take Lucky for granted. I really hope Liz and Lucky will fall back in love and rebuild their relationship after this crazy mess. 

LIZ VS SAM

Well to start with JaSam Forever. However I'm not a a hater of the Naughty Nurse just she frustrates the hell out of me.

Liz is not the end game for Jason because; she cannot handle his job and the violence that surronds it, she does not get along with his "family" Carly and Sonny. She convinced him to walk away from his child. She created a realtionship in her mind based on necessity {she helped him when he was shot or in danger} and a drunk broken heart created a ONS and two years of hell for JaSam fans. She has no honor {look what she is doing to Lucky, again} and no sense of loyalty to the one person who stood by her during the worst moment in her life, has raised her two sons as his own with all the love of the natural parent and provided her a sense of family in his own when all she had was Grams.

Sam was raised in a world of con games, violence, deception and survival. She understands Jason's world and can accept it. She does not try to change who Jason is just tries to support him and back him up when he needs it. She understands Jason's commitment to his "family" and has often put thier needs ahead of her own to her own detriement. She through Jason has learned to respect herself, love herself and try to create a world that is her own, her sisters, PI Work, and even her "Mother".

Jasam 3.0 is based on a new foundation of friendship, respect, honesty, sense of adventure, families and a stronger foundation of love. It can survive Alexis, Carly or even Liason interference. "It will be better then before!"

The character of Sam has been regressed because of her relationship with Jason. i don't understand why all of her fans continue to want this pairing. It seems like the last 2 years have been erased just to reunite JSam. It's stupid. Everything going on with Liz is character assasination. They always have it out for my girl.

megana: Just for the record, lots of us have called the men out on being slutty. I've said many times that Sonny is the biggest slut in Port Charles, lol! And I can't tell you how many times I've complained about the way GH (and many other soaps) portray women. I'd say in general ABC treats women (characters, actresses, and female viewers) disrespectfully. I quit watching OLTL mostly because of the Tarty rapemance, and their insistance on pimping psycho rapist Todd as a romantic lead.

I've loved how they've written Sam in the last year or so. She's maintained her independence and her world doesn't just revolve around Jason anymore.  I love that she's a PI & that we see her involved so much with her family.  Yes, now that the Franco story is taking off, Sam's going to be by Jason's side a lot, but as long as they're writing them as equal partners in every way, then I've got no problem with that. And I certainly don't see Sam as being "spineless." What I would love though is for Sam to have a story of her own!!! 

Meanwhile, Liz does have a story of her own and it sucks... She's coming across as a total creep. I'm actually not rooting for anyone in that story (though I feel sorry for Lucky.)

Wanted to thank Luke for sending the new update about the sites merging on here and so here I am. (waves to all the posters from TVFANONLINE) and what do I find....another post about the infamous Liz and Sam.

For the people who don't know me or remember me I hate Liz, Liz hate puts me in my special place.

Does not matter to me who she is spreading her legs for, or who's floor she is rutting on I hate her and that is putting it mildly.

Wanted to reply  and say I agree with most of your post. First I am not a happy camper that Sam is back with Jason. Yes I love that being with SB gives Kelly more air time (well it doesn't seem to me  but she has been on more this year then last year with Lucky and I am a huge, B I G in fact,  Kelly fan so I am happy for her) But I am still on the fence about JaSam.

The last two years does seem to be erased but  the three years of JaSam got erased, butchered, cut up and dismantled to make room for Liz (and I believe they did this because they did not believe Kelly was staying but that is for another post)

I do not believe they are assasinating Lizs' character but finally showing it  "in plain sight". She was this same way / same type of woman and did this same thing with Jason & Lucky two / three years ago.  "yes jason you are Jakes daddy. yes Jason you can see Jake. No Jason we can't let you be around Jake because Lucky doesn't know, and the same crap over and over to keep Jason hanging on but not around his son and keep Lucky,  the free babysitter, because he is the better parent.  What I got from all of her scenes was "No jason you can't be around Jake because you want to be around him and not me". You can't have Jake without meeeeeeeeeeee

I will have more to say when I get to hating more on Liz but for now she hasn't been making me see red...I could care less about this Lucky and I do like Nik and I have always wondered if I would like Liz with Nik (I did not hate her with Rick well I didn't like her but I could sit thru her scenes with Rick) and I am finding I am doing that with Nik and Liz.

Well said Marezi, and just to add, People talk about Liz's character assassination for Jasam (which is SO not true IMO), How about when Sam's character was assassinated two years ago for Liason? Did we forget that little tidbit?

I disagree with you thebest... Sam and Jason know that there are some bad things that have happened while they have been apart.. they both have agreed to not bring it up as it is bad memories... Sure Sam and Jason are sleeping together but they have not come out as a offical couple to the people of Port Charles... They are still in the beging of discovering themselves with eachother... Hell I dont think that Sonny even knows yet... And Lizard doesn't know either...

Sam understands Jason and the way his life is.. She can fit in with him the better then Lizard ever could...Sam can kick some ass and damn do her and Jason make hot steam together... lol....

Look at Lizard right now and look at Sam... Sam is doing way better... Now the shoe is on the other foot for Lizard fans... once our beloved Sam was being written like crap and now Lizard is... Personally I think that they are reusing the same storyline from before except this time with Nikolas...

ghalltheway: was it you that said you miss GV? Me too!! And I agree, JaSam is just at the beginning stages of their reunion. Eventually they'll discuss everything that happened between them but not yet. Right now they just want to be together and I love that :)  The fact that they can get past what they did to each other proves that they love each other unconditionally. They've had their very rough patches, but they always find a way back to each other

There was the scene between new Lucky and Sam... so saw no more sparks!!! GV and KM had so much heat with Lusam... there is no Lusam no more!

Lucky needs a new love interest.. better yet bring GV BACK!

I like Liz. I just don't get what the who Liason hype is all about. I don't see it. They bore me to death. They have no chemistry. It's so weird because chemistry most people assume is sexually but when Jasam broke up, those break up scenes and scenes thereafter were so full of intensity and emotion and their chemistry was through the roof. I don't know but I don't see Liz and Jason ever being together again. I mean it's a soap so never say never but Liz just doesn't fit his lifestyle. I don't care, Jake or no Jake they are just two complete opposites.  Sam is his soulmate. She completes him. He needs her as much as she needs him. Sam doesn't judge, she doesn't care what he does, she loves Jason for him and I think that is what's special.

I get Sam made terrible mistakes in the name of Jake but even though it happened, she has learned and grown from them. She was able to move on and find forgiveness in Lucky and eventually in Liz and Jason as well. I think it was nice that they could all find common ground [ Lusam&Liason ] but ultimately Liason fell apart and then in turn Lusam did so Sam found herself back in Jason's circle. And after everything Sam still didn;t forget what she had done to Jake as she was able to pay her dues. It doesn't necessarily erase her past mistakes but she did kind of redeem herself in the eyes of Jason Lucky and Liz.

And after everything Liz is doing now I don't think anyone can judge Sam. Yeah she put kids in danger, but Liz isn't any better if you ask me. She is stringing on Lucky while she knows, she knows that she doesn't love him the way she is falling in love with Nik. Anyway I hope that she just comes clean with Lucky because he doesn't deserve this at all.

I think I love you Cooper, lol! You made some great points. ITA agree with you about JaSam's chemistry not only being sexual. You're right, the break up scenes and everything after that were riveting to watch. Kelly and Steve work really well together no matter what the scene calls for: romance, sexiness, comedy, anger, etc... And that's one of the reasons I was always going to be a JaSam fan, no matter how they broke them up.

As for LikNiz/Lucky - one of the many reasons I can't get into that story is that what Liz and Nik are doing to Lucky is just so cruel. There's no good reason for Liz to be stringing Lucky along at all. And I don't buy that she's doing this for her kids. Total Bull, imo. Her kids are FINE. Lucky loves them and will always be there for them. I'm so tired of her justifying her lying and manipulating by saying it's for her kids. This is all about Liz wanting her cake and eating it too. The comfort and safety of Lucky and the "hot" "passion" of doing the nasty with Nik.

And I still don't understand what the h*ll is going on with Nik. Why is he such a douchebag now??
