B&B BYTES: Jackie (Lesley-Anne Down) and Owen’s (Brandon Beemer) relationship truly is magical. Owen’s laying down the law/declaration of commitment to her was classic Jowen. Even if we all know she wears the pants and he wears the Speedos in that relationship! Damn I’m going to miss this couple.
Even though Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) is a slime ball and Liam has the spine of a wet noodle, they are my favorite father/son duo on soaps at the moment.
So after months of protecting her virtue, Hope (Kim Matula) is racing to jump Liam’s (Scott Clifton) bones? I think I’m suffering from whiplash. Shouldn’t making love to the man you want to spend your life with be about their relationship and not a mad dash to cut Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) off at the pass? It doesn't say much about the strength of their relationship that Liam and Hope are so worried about Steffy.
GH BYTES: Ghost Robin (Kimberly McCullough) is still with Patrick (Jason Thompson). Good thing he doesn’t need a Ghost Whisperer to communicate with her, I guess. I like that she’s being his conscious as he struggles with his grief.
Have to say, in light of General Hospital’s negative reputation for killing off children, I didn’t actually expect Starr’s (Kristen Alderson) daughter Hope to go up in flames with her daddy. That’s one way to clean a character’s slate. No wonder Todd Manning (Roger Howarth) is going to be on the warpath.
Meanwhile, leave it to Michael (Chad Duell) to find a new obsession. READ MORE
Y&R BYTES: Avery (Jessica Collins): “Mommy knew too! Mommy knew too!” SERIOUSLY? This is what The Young and the Restless has come to? The amazing Michelle Stafford does not deserve this. It's unforunate TV watchers can't demand a refund on their investment. READ MORE
GH BYTES: So Cole Thornhart (Van Hughes) escaped from prison on One Life to Live and reunited with Starr (Kristen Alderson), only to possibly be killed off on General Hospital? Heavens to Betsy! Daytime Confidential’s Melodie Aikels is right, if Cole dies, Marty Saybrooke (Susan Haskell) needs to come to Port Charles and take out the mob. #MadMarty2012 Welcome to Port Charles, Starr!
Garin Wolf is a hack. The man, who gave us the reprehensible story of Lisa (Brianna Brown) using Robin's (Kimberly McCullough) blood as a weapon, left us with one final, stink bomb — the revelation that The Lady in White scratched and clawed her way out of the petrified womb of Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers)! GH BYTES: Kudos to John J. York for Thursday’s performance. He is by far one of the show’s most underappreciated and underutilized stars. I can’t wait for Tristan Rogers to arrive as Robert Scorpio. You just know their scenes are going to be good.
Patrick (Jason Thompson) vs. Sam (Kelly Monaco) has provided some excellent scenes this week. I’m not a JaSam fan, but Monaco is making me feel Sam’s emotional angst over the man she loves. READ MORE
DAYS BYTES: Sami (Alison Sweeney) to Marlena (Deidre Hall): “Tell me what you know about my son or get out!” Was that terror on Sami’s face when Will (Chandler Massey) revealed he’d told Marlena about Sami sleeping with EJ (James Scott)?
I can’t believe I’m about to say this, but is Will being too hard on Sami? One thing’s for sure, he’s more like his mother than he wants to admit.
Days of Our Lives has drastically improved since Dena Higley’s reign of terror ended and DAYS 2.0 kicked off. Unfortunately, few storylines–outside of those involving Sami, Will and Marlena–pack the emotional punch or “Must See” status the flaxen-haired trio are delivering. DAYS has come a long ways in a very short time, but something is missing. When DAYS finds that piece of the puzzle it will be propelled to another level. READ MORE
