SOAP BYTES: Jason’s First Thought is For Elizabeth on General Hospital; Phyllis Admits the Truth to Ronan on The Young and the RestlessBy Luke Kerr on August 28, 2012
DAYS BYTES: Melanie (Molly Burnett) found out from Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) that Nick (Blake Berris) is up for parole. She freaked out when Julie asked her notto prevent him going free. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) arrived and told Julie to back off. I loved seeing Julie and Maggie go toe-to-toe in an old-school, soap diva face off! Those scenes were the best of the episode.
While I’m on the topic of Julie, and since we don't see her enough, I'm going to just point out Seaforth Hayes still glows onscreen.
Hope (Kristian Alfonso) visited Nick in prison, where he asked how anyone could forgive him for what he’d done to Melanie. READ MORE
SOAP BYTES: Jax Returns to General Hospital; Genevieve Hunts For Victor on The Young and the RestlessBy Luke Kerr on August 24, 2012
Y&R BYTES: Sharon (Sharon Case) held a live press conference at the Newman ranch asserting her authority at Newman Enterprises. Meanwhile, Kyle (Blake Hood) and Eden (Jessica Heap) were out at the pool. After the reporter left the ranch, Kyle and Eden burst into the house. Sharon went off on Kyle for his behavior and how he could have ruined the interview. The two got into a big fight and at one point Kyle told her what he really thought of her.
Kyle to Sharon: “The only degree that you have is an MRS.”
Sharon: “Well my MRS. entitles me to my position at Newman and this house and I’ll run them how I see fit.”
SOAP BYTES: Will Isn't Sonny’s Green Light Special on DAYS; Everyone Hates Liam on Bold and BeautifulBy Luke Kerr on August 22, 2012
DAYS BYTES: Days of our Lives kicked off Tuesday’s episode with Sonny (Freddie Smith) kissing Will (Chandler Massey). Unfortunately, Will wasn’t hot in the pants for Sonny.
Will made it clear he hadn’t given Sonny a green light to kiss him. Hurt, Sonny unleashed on Will, accusing him of pretending to be straight. If you’re a regular reader of Soap Bytes you know I’m not in favor of a Will and Sonny pairing. I don’t think they share any romantic chemistry. However, both actors certainly provided good soap on Tuesday.
Will: “So I’m not filling up my social calendar enough for you?”
It was obvious Sonny had feelings for Will, but when confronted he claimed he kissed Will because they’re friends? If you ask me, Sonny is in as much denial as he claims Will is.
DAYS BYTES: Shaken by the explosion, Salem’s residents searched the rubble for their missing family and friends. Ian (Ian Buchanan) knelt over Madison’s (Sarah Brown) body. Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) rushed to save Abby (Kate Mansi). EJ (James Scott) held onto Sami (Alison Sweeney) for dear life — because her life really did hang by his bulging biceps.
Y&R BYTES: Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego, er Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)? That is the question everyone in Genoa City is asking. Tucker (Stephen Nichols) asked it to Sharon (Sharon Case). Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) definitely wants to know.
The longer Victor is away, the less interested Sharon seems in finding him. In what may have been the most interesting twist on Thursday’s The Young and the Restless, Sharon told Avery (Jessica Collins) she didn’t know anything about the prenup Victor made her sign.
A ranch hand found Victor’s phone and gave it to Nikki. Nikki sent Sharon a text pretending to be Victor, which had the new Mrs. Newman panicked. I wonder why? READ MORE
SOAPY BYTES: John McBain Exhibits Honey Badger Ferocity on General Hospital; Harmony Needs to Go on The Young and the RestlessBy Luke Kerr on August 09, 2012
Y&R BYTES: It is time for Harmony (Debbi Morgan) to make a fast exit from Genoa City. With each passing day I like the character less and less. More importantly, after many memorable performances as Angie on All My Children, I do not want the role of Harmony to be my lasting soap memory of Morgan.
Both Morgan and Kristoff St. John deserve better than being thrown together in such a chemistry-free pairing. The Young and the Restless needs to cut its losses and admit the role of Harmony has been a colossal mistake. Next, they need to get on the horn and call up Victoria Rowell.
Sharon (Sharon Case) woke up with a hangover, then apologized to Tucker (Stephen Nichols) for kissing him in her drunken state. Nikki arrived at the Newman ranch to try and find Victor (Eric Braeden).
Sharon: “Victor is my husband and my concern, so why don’t you get the hell out and go back to your husband?”
