According to a tweet by Soap Opera Digest, the Outstanding Younger Actor and Actress categories have been added back into the main Daytime Emmy ceremony on June 23.

I'd heard a rumor NATAS was considering this nonsense, and prayed it wouldn't prove true. I guess the Soap Gods were fowarding my calls to voicemail, because Soaps In Depth is reporting the Outstanding Younger Actor and Actress categories have been cut from the main Daytime Emmy program on June 23!
Those awards will be handed out at the Creative Arts Daytime Emmys on June 17. Okay, I've been trying to be all Namaste of late, but this is some flat out b.s!

Sesame Street, Ellen Rule Non-Soap Daytime Emmy Nods

A pair of cute, cuddly blondes, Big Bird and Ellen Degeneres, led the non-soap Daytime Emmy nominations this year. Kiddie TV classic Sesame Street had the most non-soap nominations with 16. The Ellen Degeneres Show nabbed the most talk show nods with 12. For the complete list of Daytime Emmy nominees (including soaps again) see below!
General Hospital Leads Daytime Emmy Soap Nominations With 23 Nods!

Here we go! The 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced just a few minutes ago on Today. ABC Daytime's General Hospital boasts the most soap nods with 23. CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless followed with 16 nominations. NBC's lone sudser Days of Our Lives took 15. The Bold and the Beautiful, along with cancelled soaps All My Children and One Life to Live, all snagged 11 nominations respectively. It's Official: Daytime Emmys to be Held June 23 In Los Angeles

Its official. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has revealed the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards are on and heading back to Los Angeles! According to the organization, the ceremony will take place on June 23 at the Beverly Hilton and will have a look and atmosphere very similar to the Golden Globes. See the full press release below.
