Which show do you think was the Worst Soap of the Week?
Days of Our Lives was really good this week besides the dannifer crap.
DAYS, hands down. Shawn Christian is pretty to look at & a decent actor, but they've been trying to make the character of Daniel Jonas happen for the last FIVE years. It's not happening. Time to send his ass to Doctors Without Boarders. Rafe irritates me, but if I just have to deal with him, I'd rather he be with Jennifer. She's the good goody 2 shoes that he always tried to turn Sami into.
They need to put Roman back in Kate's orbit & form a triangle with Stefano. That's the only time Josh Taylor has truly worked on this show is with that pairing. Also REUNITE JOHN/MARLENA AND BRING BACK BO!!!!
Completely agree; if they hadn't been on this week it would've been my favorite of the week.
Worst for me--Y&R(although I will say it picked up a little at the end of the week with Lauren/Carmine/Michael/Paul/Fen--my God, how unbelievably good is Max Ehrich? Damn people, get that boy on contract!).
As a 36 year viewer, The Young & the Restless has ALWAYS been my show. And while it is better than the LML and MAB years, it is PAINFULLY boring. And for a daytime drama, that is a major no-no. I hate to even suggest this as they have not been in their roles for a year, but Jill AND Josh need to be released of their duties. Paging Edward Scott as Executive Producer and Kay Alden and Sally Sussman-Morina as Co-Headwriters. Then we would have a show deserving of being the #1 rated daytime drama.
I would love to see what we would get if one of our daytime dramas was head written by two women. I am holding judgment on Marlene McPherson at the newly revived All My Children. And on Prospect Park as well as they may saddle her with a male Co-Headwriter.
PS: This post brought to you by a male viewer.
Honestly, not sure what kind of job Kay Alden would do, she has been shoveling some serious crap around over at B&B with the gruesome threesome.
DAYS has been so much better, by leaps and bounds, since the Dannifer/ Chloe thing ended. They really have a stellar cast. One that, even if the storylines seem to be a little slow, the actors can spin that to their advantage!
Young and Restless
This show has been boring and unrecognizable to me for the majority of the year. I think there's been way too many changes (newbies, recasts, and sets) in a very short amount of time which is a bad thing to me. The one and only storyline from this new regime that has been great are the two centered on the Baldwin family. Fen vs Jamie and Michael/Lauren/Carmine has been the only hits of 2013.
DAYS, thanks to Daniel and Jennifer. What an annoying couple.
Followed by Y&R, thanks to Dylan aka Jason Morgan 2.0. Burton should have stayed portraying a hitman without emotions. Suits better with his so called acting. Dylan is in pretty good company with his two ladies - Chelsea and Avery.
B&B always seems to be between a good and a bad soap. It would have been nice if Brooke wouldn't have ended up pregnant. THAT would have been a nice twist. Not that she actually is after already having (almost) half a dozen children.
GH is not in good shape too.
I did not find Days to be the worst soap last week. I even found Daniel and Jennifer tolerable. They are much less annoying in light, drama-free stories. It's when the two actors are asked to portray strong emotions that they fall short. This wasn't the case last week.
I loved seeing Nick acting insane and Gaby finally realizing it, EJ plotting to take Stefano down, and Nicole clashing with Vargas and yet being obviously attracted to him physically.
For a change, the show had lots of balance last week.
Definitely not a bad week for Days. (Actually, I think Days was my favorite show last week, so I'm heading over to the Best Soap section.)
I don't watch Days, but I voted for Bold. All hope does is whine all day. Brooke is a so sleazy. Donna is not smart, she picking her sister side who slept with her brother-in-law. Rick is sleazy. Liam is a waffler.
I almost wished I could have voted for three soaps.
I ended up voting for B&B. I just cannot handle that show and the way it was written this week or pretty much every week.
I was really tempted to say Y&R because it is BORING BEYOND WORDS(The only saving grace being Michael/Lauren/Carmine/Fen).
Days was surprisingly descent, but Dannifer left a taste of skunk funk in my mouth after watching that I almost voted for Days for that reason alone.
@SoapSnob: Y&R has been good for me accept for Steve "turtle acting" Burton. Now he is a bore. And he and Avery together it's all she does is that 1980's soap style emotions. She does not even build up into the emotions. It's like when she says, "Hello!" It is like the most dramatically sad hello I have heard in forever. And just imagine if she has to go the restroom. She say (cue the tragic dramatic emotions with her hands on her chest), "I've got to go to the bathroom Dylan!"
A lot of people voted days because the photo is on the front of the poll. But it was really good this week.
I didn't vote because waste of time but actually DOOL was most enjoyable and entertaining to watch. Y&R as much as I love was boring as hell except a few bright spots. When the vets were on Y&R was wonderful but that wasn't happening the last few weeks.
No vote for me this week. All shows I watch were average. Reboots were better than I thought.
